Great taste but butter overload

Sardar is an unassuming little eatery in Tardeo which specializes in Pav Bhaji and it does it with butter... Lots of butter. We went there today with friends for lunch. Arrived at about 3:15 and has to wait in the queue for about 30 mins. It was worth the wait. The pav bhaji was great. We ordered... read more

My friend Abodh took me here despite my apprehensiveness. Let me tell you - I had the best food I had eaten in India at this restaurant. Their pav Bhaji is second to none. It was sensational. I ate her consistently after my first trip as I was in Mumbai for 6 weeks. Go here, you will not regret.

I was already in that area when one of my friends asked me to try this place. Place is small but seems popular as there was a queue to sit inside. We decided to have it in our car. While the pav bhaji was good there was nothing outstanding except lot of butter being used. So I will suggest you... More

Overhyped! I had heard of this place so thought of visiting, We waiting for 40 minutes for a place to sit, then came to know that no one would keep a track of people who are waiting inside, in fact you have to be in a queue, We finally for a place to sit, however outside this guy was cutting... A tiny place in the heart of the city, it is one of its kind. Delicious delicious pau bhaji cooked in excessive butter.. The moment you put a bite in your mouth, you forget the long wait and that you might be sharing the table with strangers. Though we liked the idea of being served batch wise, the intent being... Sardar pavbhaji survives on the hype generated in the past. Now one waits for 45 minutes to enter, to encounter tired waiters and rather routine pav bhaji. Water is not offered free like other restaurants. The cleanliness can not be maintained with all the waiting hordes. The service is also rather slow. We were disappointed after waiting 50 minutes to... More

....then there is no way you can afford to give sardar a miss! Went here for the first time after having heard of it for a long long time and I wasn't disappointed. Luckily went during mid afternoon hours on a weekday so there was no wait for seating. There is no menu to speak off because I assume everyone... More

Have been here many times. And yet I visited it again - this time with foreign visitors who haven't been in a long time. The quality of the one dish they serve remains constant. Pav bhaji is a very Bombay concoction. It consists of a vegetable preparation of potatoes, carrots, beans all pre-cooked and then refried on a large "tava"... More
