Good Bengali food

Am not a great fan of Bengali food & not being a pure Bengali my definition of tasty Bengali food may differ from an authentic Bengali foodie. I prefer a blend of North Indian touch to food & considering that, the food was good & didn’t disappoint to that extent. The Alu dum was good, so was kosha... read more

This is one restaurant and it's food that I can never forget. It dishes out bengali cuisine and the 'luchi' and 'kosha mangsho' is a delight. I tend to over eat here and it's totally worth it :) 5 years ago I found it value for money, currently the prices have gone up but once again it's worth the visit.... More

There was a time when the only place to get good Bengali food in Mumbai was Oh Kolkata or go to a Bengali's house. Over the years there has been a proliferation of Bengali food joints across Mumbai alll claiming to be the most authentic Bengali food joint. I had the opportunity of enjoying lunch at The Calcutta Club recently... More

A meal here is always a great experience. The chicken chaap is my favorite. Great bengali food, cooked & served well. The restaurant makes people like me from Calcutta nostalgic. Must also try the Devilled Eggs

Bengali cuisine eateries come up now and then, the oldest being Oh! Calcutta. And it does dish out some very good stuff, but not the true blue taste of kolkata if i may say, and instead a much stylised and milder version that caters to firangs and non-bengalis largely. And then there is Bhojohori Manna, which no doubt makes decent... More

My colleague is a regular customer of Calcutta club, so this time I went with him, I Remember few years ago I tried fish curry made with mustard seeds paste, Just because for that dish I went there. Ambiance was nice and minimalist seems like an old Calcutta restaurant. They have a large archive of bangali iconic personalities photographs. My... More

A nice and cosy place with limited seating, will give you the feel of a small well maintained eatery in some North Kolkata lane. The ambience is nice, the walls decorated with the who's who of bengali culture and movie industry. Nice, delicious bengali meals you get at a good price, never pinches your pocket. The staff are all nice,... More

Despite the lesser seating capacity, its never chaotic. Waiters are friendly and never in a rush. Owners, especially the lady is always smiling. The food is good. Its served in simple crockery and reasonably priced; it never pinches your pocket, trust me! The paintings and photographs they have hung all around give you a great feel about Bengali cinema and...
