There is absolutely nothing fancy about this place. Situated in a difficult to find location this place does not boast of regular patrons but regular generations of patrons. They require no advertisements or reviews. Their food speaks for them. Authentic Gujarati food served with love. For the serving staff the patrons to the Bhojanalay are not paying customers but valued... More

PLEASE STOP. very simple seating, no... More

If you love thalis, this is the place to go! Located in South Mumbai, this restaurant serves awesome (veg)thali (make sure u have an appetite to match!). Always crowded especially on Sundays but worth the wait. The building in which this place is located may look a bit dingy but the restaurant is well made up + airconditioned. Service is... More

Shree Thaker Bhojanalay is not just an eating place. It is an experience! The food served is simple, Indian (only Gujarati) ,vegetarian thali. There is no a la carte menu to choose from - only a set meal menu for the day or rather for the meal ( lunch or dinner) The food is flavourful and hygienically prepared and there... More

I visited here on the recommendation of a friend who reviews restaurants, and knew I was in for a bit of adventure as my hotel concierge's eyes bulged when I told him where I needed a taxi to take me. "So you want to see the real Mumbai sir? Very good. The driver informs me that the roads are not... More

Having lived in Mumbai for the last 58 years, I am a shade embarrassed to have not frequented this place earlier. The reason I have not been here earlier being the rather chaotic access to it. But once in, it's worth every rupee spent in taste and value. The two thali meals served on any given day are different, so... More

The thali is Good w.r.t. quality and quantity but so so about taste, lil expensive and hyped, as it costs more than the taste it offers. I've had better thalis @ lesser price. no doubt the ambience and hospitality they serve with are priceless just like all other dedicated traditional thali vendors (rajdhani, golden star, sun temple, rasoi etc) provide... We liked the food. We asked the waiter to order something typical for starter and very suprised positively. It's a bit high budget, but it works out fine. The air condition was very cool, I would say 16'C - too cold, having 27'C outside.

To have the best and most authentic Gujarati thali in Mumbai one has to travel into the bylanes of Kalbadevi . The reward, you get to eat a thali better than the routine stuff provided by the others across Mumbai. This eatery started by Maganbhai Purohit known as the Father of Gujarati Thalis in 1955 is very popular with the... More
