If you are a Thali lover and in south Mumbai then this is not the place to be missed. Quality of Food: Excellent. Taste : Finger Licking just like home made. Service : Fastest like anything... Ambience : Not like any Star Category but nice, neat & clean with air-conditioning. Bottom line - A MUST VISIT PLACE IN MUMBAI FOR... More

Honestly I don't know what is better there. The food or the service. I will start with the second one. Friendly extremaly helpful and competent stuff made sure we fully enjoying the meal. We had everything explained and we were literrally guided through the variety of great dishes. Everyone was not only professional but genuinely friendly, even though we came... More

Hidden deep in the heart of Kalbadevi, South Bombay's crowded, bustling heritage market district is this old eatery, highly regarded by seekers of authentic ethnic culinary traditions. A thali works on the principle of seasonal fresh produce. Apart from the Dals and Kadhis, chutneys and achars, every other preparation, sweet or savoury is driven by whatever is in season. All... At 400 Rupees per person, this is the most expensive Thali I've ever had, but it's well worth it. Everyone is extremely friendly and the place is very comfortable. Try everything, and they'll keep bringing you more of whatever you're liking (which is probably everything).

Truly delicious AUTHENTIC food. Coming from Chicago, I crave gujarati cuisine and Thakar hits the spot with every dish. From the scrumptious curries to the mouth watering chutneys the thali is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The aamras is simply mind-blowing! You can’t beat an unlimited thali like this for such an awesome price. The service is also... More

Every Time I am in Mumbai I go to Thakers. Actually I have been visiting this place since childhood whenever I visited Mumbai with my parents. Nothing has changed. The food is excellent, the service legendary. The alphonso aamras is the best I have ever eaten anywhere. A must visit.

If you are believer in 'live to eat' than 'eat to live' then THIS is the place for you. Save yourself a trip to Gujarat or Rajasthan and just come here instead! Make sure you bring ALL of your appetite. You are going to need it! (Maybe skip a meal beforehand). Once you make it through the crowd and general... More

Okay the truth be told I could not find this place for half an hour and was having second thoughts of going somewhere else. But then we found it! We found a complete turnaround once inside. It is nice and cosy and staff is very helpful. And now coming to the thali. It is excellent. It is fresh and hygienic.... More
