I come to Thaker everytime I visit India and I can honestly say that their quality and quantity of food doesn't change no matter how many years go by! The history of the restaurant also really makes it one of a kind. Yes, the location is a bit trippy and sometimes hard to locate for some, but that adds to... More

If you like eating a Gujarati thali - this is THE place to go to in Mumbai! Located in a small by-lane of the bustling old market, the place is tough to find - a real hidden gem!

i love the location.. crowded market streeets, unconventional 1st floor, hidden restaurant...which is sort of hard to find.. but besides that.. the food is ok.. nothing really to rave about.. go there for the experience... thats it.. i do believe that the die hard gujrati's would love the place...

This is one of the oldest Gujarati thali places in the old part of the city. Thru the narrow lanes and up a tight flight of stairs is "thaker bhognalay" meaning thaker's eating house. The menu is a set thali with around 4 gravies, 2 farsans, 2 sweets, 2-3 kinds of chapati bhakri puri. Dal and kadhi are staples along... More

Visited on the strength of the trip advisor reports and was not disappointed with the food or service. Despite me not speaking any Hindi and the wait staff not speaking any English I felt welcome like a guest visiting house with the hosts trying their best to make my visit enjoyable. Left with a very full stomach. The area and... More

This is a gret restaurant for food quality & variety, though this is in a busy kalbadevi locality, also the place is small with little interiors, but we go to eat and enjoy good food, i had the misfortune to wait, as there was a goodly crowd, but the waiting was worth, as i and my wife enjoyed the food,... This is a great restaurant from Gujarati Thali. Very few places come to mind that offer such good food when it comes to Gujarati food. I live in San Francisco and every time I make a trip to Bombay, I have to get my fix from this restaurant atleast 4 days a week. I never get tired of the food... More

I visited this place on 12th September 2014 for dinner. The place was not difficult to locate with google map although it is located in busy area of kalbadevi. The place is small with ordinary interiors. But the food is excellent and so is the service. The variety is so much that one can only taste little of everything. Jain... More

I had lunch here with my family. This was one lunch I will not forget for a long time. The food was so delicious and the service was impeccable. It was very hard for me to pick what was the best of the thali. I personally loved the Moong dal khichdi and the different types of roti which were served... More
