Sublime cooking, devine flavours

Housed in vivavta hotel where we currently stay, its difficult to eat anywhere else, but not for convenience, Konkan serve possibly the best fish dishes I have ever tried. Impeccable and friendly service. Only marked down atmosphere slightly as it was quiet both times we visited.

The restaurant in at the Taj President Hotel in Mumbai, which serves delicious coastal cuisine. The staff is extremely courteous and efficient. The Uppams with the prawn curry are to die for. The Veg selection of food too is vast. The Mutton dish too is fabulous, I forget the name though. Complete the meal with Hot Jalebis and rabdi.

Konkan Cafe is redolent of the Konkan, as you perceive as soon as you walk in. The decor is strongly influenced by the ornate traditionalism imagined by Bollywood, but the hospitality and food take your mind off it immediately. As we hesitated between beer and wine, a plate of crisp rice crackers appeared on our table, accompanied by a quartet... More

Its a culinary experience unlike any other. The coatal food was from excellent to very good. Nothing on the menu is less than very good. Ingredients, technique all very superlative. Desserts need help and this alone made konkan cafe miss the 5th star.

We went for lunch to this restaurant which is one of the restaurants at the Hotel President which belongs to the famous Taj Group. Though we went only at 1 PM on a Saturday, it was fairly empty, but started getting more people coming in after around 1.45 pm. The ambience of the place is exquisite, all ethnic and ancient... The place gets better and better and the service is super. Prakash and Chetan did a commendable job helping us choose what's best and then made sure my in laws were well taken care of. The food is awesome as always - will keep going back ! The sambhar is must try - the appams and malabari parathas are something... More

Konkan Café is in Taj President Colaba. As the name suggests, you get western coastal "Konkani" food there. I relish the sea food. The food is served in traditional copper vessels with banana leaf on it. One can taste coconut in most of the dishes. Wine list is decent. Food is expensive considering it is in a 5 star hotel.... The sol kadhi is not the only thing for the soul here. Each item that's served is done with the articulation it deserves. The stewards really complement the chefs very well , with their knowledge of the food as well as the relaxed ambience they create. Tucked away in cuffe parade , the restaurant is for those who like food... More

I had such high hopes for this! :( First off this is one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever seen. The Decor is spotless and so imaginative, a love for Hindustani of old and thus utterly fantastic! So i give TOP marks for the 5 star decor! Second, the staff.. Fantastic. very courteous, friendly, attentive, helpful, diligent... They were... More

If you love food from India's west coast, this is a place you should not miss. Excellent range and amazing staff marks this restaurant. From the solkadi to start with and the paan when you leave, the place is good value for money as well as fine and tasteful
