Konkan Cafe serves South Indian food par excellence. The chef Ananda Solomon has painstakingly created a menu that has the best of all South Indian dishes. I was amazed to see the ramasseri idli - a dish I had tasted over 40 years ago in Ramesseri and a dish I thought I'd never ever eat again. The mutton fry, the... More

Went to Konkan Cafe for an office lunch. Very impressed by 1. Friendly and professional staff (we made them open their kitchen at 3.30pm for a 10 member group, and they obliged) 2. Food was simply outstanding. Vegetarian as well as Non-vegetarian. Don't forget to taste ALL chutneys and ALL pickles. 3. Ambiance is beyond excellence. The soft instrument music... More

We went to the Konkan Cafe for lunch yesterday. The restaurant is participating in the Restaurant Week and had a great deal of Lunch Thali for Rs. 1500/- ++. There was a choice of 3 thali's:- Veg, Non-veg & Seafood. Being a seafoodie, I ordered the Seafood Thali. The meal begins with fried crisps served with 4 chutneys. The Rasam... More

Its the most tasty south indian breakfast today in mumbai.... Beats places like madras cafe... They have this awesome breakfast only on sat/sun from 7-11am. From the dosas to upma, the food is OUTSTANDING.... Moreso the pricing is very reasonable... Not like taj mahal palace that has lost the plot in food pricing in all their restaurants. Well done chef... More

Ate one evening. Busy restaurant which serves a variety of local dishes. Fish curry was perfect as we're all veg dishes we tried. Big portions so don't over order. Good atmosphere.impeccable service.

We were staying at the Taj President and enjoyed the food here so much we ate in the Konkan Cafe on successive evenings. Our children are pretty young and the staff were happy to recommend the mildest of chicken curries for them. My husband and I meanwhile dived into prawns, clams and a wonderful dry crab dish. Delicious and very... More
