Wow - the food is out of this world

One of my suppliers suggested we went for lunch here. When he said 'Martin's', I had an idea of a plush touristy place. How wrong was I. The Restaurant is tiny - half a dozen tables with wooden bench seats and a very limited selection. Appearances can be off-putting. I had a Pork Vindaloo, my... read more

Heard of New Martin for a long while and could finally make it. A small joint - no frill, in fact crammed tables - and a limited menu. Serves only staple Goan stuff like vindaloo, sorpotel and chicken/fish fry and a few more items. Don't go expecting other Goan delights like cafreal, xacuti, recheado or even the stuffed fish. Desert... More

I was really excited when a friend suggested this authentic Goan restaurant. The highlight was the fabulous Pork Sorpotel with pao (of course) at this tiny Goan place! Ended up ordering almost one portion of each dish on the menu... Would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

I go to this place maybe once a year if I am in the vicinity but what I like best about this place is that the same waiters have bee there for ages and One of them, greets you like you have known him for ages (sort of). Coming to the Food. It tastes exactly like it did about 2... More

New Martins was recommended to me by a buddy of mine and to be honest I was a bit apprehensive when I saw the place. It literally is a hole in the wall... Prices were crazy low to boot! But once the food came, all questions were put to rest! The steak, sausages, other goan food... all great stuff (Greasy,... More

New Martin’s Restaurant This is a tiny Goan eatery run by a Mangalorean gentleman. Here you don’t go for the ambience or decor but for the hearty Goan food – the kind you get in a typical Goan household. The dishes available for each day are written on the blackboard on the wall, and as each item gets over it... More

Visited this tiny place on 14.12.13 , n it is not shut. I was aware of their timings and how their food starts getting over, that's why I reached the by 7:45... We were only two people and we had one goan chilly sausage, one pork sorpotel, one chicken vindaloo, steamed rice, jelly custard and thumbs up and total bill... More

All my Goan friends love this place as it reminds them of Goa. Think its shutdown now, not sure. I ordered fish curry, which was very cheap and a steak which was again tasty but inexpensive. The quantity was okay for a single person and it was tasty.

Suggested by a friend; I had one of my best meals here, the best of the lot being the Sorpotel, the Goan Chilly Sausage and the Beef Onion Steak. However everything else has a flavour of its own and authentically goan. They make less quantities of everything and shut early so one has to be in time to taste all... More
