Nice variations of traditional South Indian fare

Besides the usual South Indian standards, this restaurant attempts to mix-and-match by e.g. adding grated cheese to a traditional Mysore Masala Dosa. Most of the "experimental" dishes are worth it. Fresh fruit juices, and a blend of coconut water and lime were very much appreciated!

The words i would use to describe this are Clean, dakshin food fusion, experience, warm, choices, vegetarian, tasty and coconut base in most items and reasonable. Veg families will like this.

My morning walk group regularly visits The Banana Leaf for a hearty breakfast on Sunday mornings. The steaming hot idlis, crisp medu wadas, paper thin dosas and south indian coffee all hard to resist. The restaurant unlike most Udipi restaurants has an upmarket ambiance, the meal is served attractively on stainless steel plates with circular-cut banana leaves much like they do... More

Banana leaf serves south Indian style vegetarian food; idlis (south Indian rice cake), dosas (south Indian rice crepes) etc. However, it is not a usual south Indian restaurant; the presentation here is a lot different. Instead whole idlis served with sambar and chutneys served in separate bowls, the idlis here are served in cut up soft morsels with chutneys (quite... More
