Visited gajalee restaurant @ midi for Saturday lunch with my wife. Is a regular visitor and was coming after 2 months, Was shocked to see the escalation in prices with dishes with pomfret on the menu stroked out. They have started charging by the size of the catch. Ordered the tandoori pomfret which was very good but damn expensive .... More

BOMBAY DUCK. BOMBAY DUCK. I have been searching for Deep-Batter-fried Bombay Duck all over Mumbai. And my search ended in Gajalee about 7 years back. No other restaurant in Mumbai makes Bombay Duck like Gajalee does. (Even - I daresay - some of my friends' Mothers! They come very very close, but still...) The fish is perfectly flattened, the bones... More

The menu is quite extensive and includes good... More

Everything about Gajalee is great. The price is a bit steep, but seems like the necessary evil. Best place for western costal food. Don't try if you are a vegetarian, you will probably end up having some good fruit shakes only.

We visited the restaurant after an year. As we had reached early before 8 pm, getting a place was not so much of a problem. But this was the only satisfactory experience. The entire process reeked of apathy. Starting from offering drinking water. The captain who took the order was more particular about explaining the costs of the dishes marked... More
