Finger licking!

Delicious misal, aubergine gravy, thaalipeeth and other Marathi Indian vegetarian tongue ticklers. Spice could be a bit high for westerners, but you can ask for less spicy.

Went for lunch on a Saturday this July with family. Being weekend got seat after waiting for sometime. I used to visit this restaurant alone many years back, when this place used to be a simple open restaurant serving traditional Maharashtrian and south Indian dishes. This time visited after many years. Found this fully air conditioned and more orderly, but... More

Great place to eat authentic maharashtrian food. There is a long waiting to get in. Seating is shared. My mom and I had to share our table with two college girls. The manager and servers are very polite. We had their world famous missal pau. Their kothimbir wadi and batawada are very good too. You really can't go wrong with... More

My wife & I were in Dadar looking for a place to have Maharashtrian lunch, someone recommended Aaswad so we went there, managed to find parking nearby & then waited over an hour & a half. It was lunchtime on Sunday, so to an extent expected. Unfortunately we did not realise that the speciality was mainly snacks, while we were... More

This is a very popular restaurant located opposite Shiv Sena Bhavan at Dadar west in Mumbai. Nicely decorated place with nice ambiance also serves delicious Maharshtrian cuisine. Misal pav is specialty but other dishes are also very tasty. You can order thali pith, upma, sheera, batata and sabu dana vada etc. They also sell sweets. Definitely nice place to have lunch or snacks.

Just decided to visit after it received recognition at international level. Misal & Pav, their signature dish..tastes the same year after year. The normal waiting time is almost 20 minutes to secure a seat. But it is worthwhile. The taste lies in the rassa and fresh farsan. The pav is also soft n fresh. Overall good combination.

Authentic Maharashtrian food that Indians and ex-pats and tourists SHOULD try. Quick service, simple, clean ambiance is the USP. Thalipeeth, Misal Pav, Usal Pav and Kharwas are a must try
