Great food..

We decided to visit this restaurant last week to refresh our memory of their missal pav – a dish that we’ve grown up eating and a dish that was voted the ‘World’s Tastiest Vegetarian Dish’ at the Global Foodie Hub Awards held in London recently. The missal was seasoned well and it wasn’t long... read more

Just opened @ M G Road Ghatkopar East on 25 August '15.. A small restaurant offering Maharashtrian cuisine - with few Jain options. Reasonably priced.. But buying coupon first and going to counter every time you want another dish is irritating..& you go back to counter to pick up yr ordered dish is even more irritating.. Why can't they appoint... This place is mostly crowded and you have a waiting number generally. Last week I visited Aaswad with an friend who wanted to try out authentic Maharastrian food. We were not disappointed and shared amazing dishes starting with the Misal pav followed by Kothimbir wadi, Piyush and Kharwas as the sweet dish. Yummy taste and great for the wallet. Enjoyed... Another one of those over hyped restaurants in Mumbai. The famous missal pav is decent but surely not the best I have ever had. The pitale bhakri was inedible that we dimply walked out the restaurant. Best to avoid this place altogether.

(Note : Check for your waiting number first. :-) ). Now about food. Its delicious just too good. I tried Misal (It won the Foodie Global Hub 2015 Award in London),... More

Like the other overrated place in Dadar (Oven Fresh), Aaswad is a restaurant where one will always find a waiting line. The place is always crowded and the food is decent. Not worth the wait.

Delicious misal, aubergine gravy, thaalipeeth and other Marathi Indian vegetarian tongue ticklers. Spice could be a bit high for westerners, but you can ask for less spicy.
