Amazing location, average food

As said by others, stunning location, average food. Best come for a cup of tea and have dinner elsewhere.

Such an impressive hotel so we went for afternoon tea. We were put in a corridor and left. The tablecloths were filthy and there was a musty smell. A cup of tea was all we got - not even a teapot Very disappointing. It could be such a lovely place but the staff just aren't interested!

The restaurant is located on the ground floor of this grand, old palace. The building is beautiful, the restaurant too reflects some of the past glory. Unfortunately, it does require professional maintenance. I think because it is part of Ashoka group (a govt initiative), the employees do not have any motivation for better service and maintenance - just get the... More

The Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel is an attractive building with pretty gardens. Inside is like a step back in time, the grandeur is still there but it does need some tlc to bring it up to it's reputation. We called in for some light refreshments and the prices here reflect it's grandeur. It's a shame the owners don't recognise it's... More

Having seen pictures of this place we thought we had to try it, and in some ways it was right. The hotel itself is a grand palace that is hugely impressive, and the dining room is really very impressive. That's pretty much where the positives end. The night we went the only option was a buffet - not my favourite... More

The ballroom is an absolutely stunning setting for dinner at the palace. The food was pretty good - I had a thali and my husband had a korma, and both were very tasty. Felt a little overpriced and it's a real pain to get to, but worth going to look around the palace.

Average food, way overpriced. Overcharged for drinks. Getting back to the city a pain and the hotel workers asked 500 rupees for the ride.

A stay at the Lalitha Palace Mahal is an absolute MUST when visiting Mysore. It was absolutely stunning, as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside!Felt like I was transported back in time to the British Raj.Service is great too and their restaurant is definitely the highlight. We were lucky to get a great deal on the price and... Stunning Dining room but remove the Claustrophobic curtains. Don't choose from the menu, ask the main guy what he has that's fresh-chicken curry & spinach aloo & fresh, hot rotis. The breakfast was even better-hot puri-baji, excellent ginger tea & lots of fresh fruit to start with. You won't get this in the corporate 5star properties. Extraordinary garlic bread- better... It is a nice experience to dine at the royal palace. Food was good though it could be improved. Very nice location and view .
