Its probably one of the best restaurants in shimla. food was good... at least what we had.. specially grilled fish in lemon butter sauce as well as hummus with pita. everyone enjoyed their meal so i would recommend it. but beware it closes by 10pm so go there early.

Its a rare treat to get enchiladas and tacos in Himachal or even Delhi, but here the chef knows how to turn the pan in just the right way and also produce a convincing guacamole. Sol cafe seats you under a colorful canopy overlooking the Shimla valley and doesn't rush you through a lunch though there is a line of... More

Good choice of continental, italian and mexican dishes. Great taste. Friendly staff. Right near the lift at the mall road, makes it a great location. Start or end your mall road shopping spree here.

They know how to make a great Pizza & Pastas. Mexican however is not there yet - they made a Burrito with stuffed vegetables, there was no rice and kidney beans.

The cafe is located just next to "the lift" which is the best thing about this place. The food overall is good with a good variety. I liked Pizza the most. Overall a nice place.

This cafe is located on The Mall next to the lift and is part of Hotel Combermere. It is set back from the road a little so can be easily missed. It was busy when we went, in the afternoon, so there was a wait involved for about fifteen minutes. There is a good selection of food on the menu,... More

Café Sol, the cafeteria of Hotel Combermere manages to impress by the variety of dishes on its menus. Even more impressive is the fact that almost all of them are well prepared, retaining the authenticity of the recipes even though they use local ingredients in some cases. Service is swift, staff knowledgeable & helpful, and the coffee hot & freshly... More

Service: slow. Had to keep raising my hand to get their attention. Food: ok. Pizza was good. Cheese sandwich had no cheese. Chocolate cake was loaded with greased chocolate but no taste. Pasta was again just palatable. Fish was dry. Also tried sticky jaw which was nice. Got oat biscuits packed but they tasted like chalk. Ambience: it is a... More

After reading some good reviews about the restaurant we though to give it a try on a sunny afternoon for lunch. It has a lively ambiance and good music. Nice decor but the food was a passé.

I and my husband had nice lunch here. I loved this cafe so nostalgic and views from there are awesome. Tasty continental stuff with Thai, Mexican and Italian are amazing. The food tastes good, pastries are yum, prices high compared to others, but worth the taste.
