Visit a By-Lane Karims Hotel - Not to be missed

We Visited on 22nd March 2015 and we enjoyed. It is treat for a non-veg foodie like me. Sheeg Kebab is the specialty. Do not miss Liver and Brain Preparations. Finish with Mutton Biryani.

Karims ..established in 1913 is famous for mughlai food preparation.I have been to this place thrice and tried a variety of preparations. Tandoori or oven preparations are awesome....cooked slowly with all flavours intact. Although gravy items are just ok.....big problem is the quantity of oil they use. Lamb raan is delicacy and a must try for mutton lovers.

I came across Karim's in Old Delhi and went in because I had seen it mentioned in various guides and thought, just this once, I would eat in a place in the guidebooks!. Karim's is good, but I think perhaps is proof that the writers of guides plagiarise each other, so that once a place gets a mention in one,... More

I am a vegetarian, but took my visiting sister and brother-in-law to Karims because they wanted to have mutton. Living in the US, where goat meat is not so readily available, they were looking forward to it on their visit. Finding the place was not too difficult. We had to park the car and walk through a very narrow passage... More

First time in Delhi, with a friend who used to live in Nizamuddin, so he had to take me to Karim's. Yes, challenging to get into, and small cramped space full of people (always a good sign), service not exceptional, but the food was great. we had seekh kebab, mutton biryani and a couple other dishes. well cooked, well flavoured.... Service is certainly not their strong points. The food is also not exceptional, you can have much better in other Karim's. The Karim's at India Islamic Cultural Centre which is hardly 2 Kms away is much better, it's the best Karim's I have been to, in terms of both , food and service.

This outfit has old name but absolutely none of the old time quality. I ordered lamb Raan, afghani chicken and chicken mughlai. Lamb was poorly marinated and was likely cooked fast in tandoor with high burning temperatures. Net result wa meat with no taste and burnt outer shell with uncooked inner core. marination was not done and whole thing appeared... More

It was below average for all the food which I had in in Delhi during my trip. I saw a small cockroach on the table and I was really shocked. I am really appalled by the upkeep of the place.
