A fun little Mexican restaurant with an interesting collection of staff and patrons

This was the final restaurant that I visited before leaving Bocas for home. It was a great meal and I'm glad I got to enjoy it. The food was delicious. I had the fish tacos, and others with me had the enchilada's and stuffed burritos. They all said there meals were good as well and finished... read more

I searched out this place, and am glad I did! I went back three times in 1 week just to eat here, loved the enchiladas, and the nachos. Heard the fish tacos were good too, though I don't like fish. The owner Gary is fun and entertaining. A delightful meal, just a block away from the Central Park.

We last lived I in New Mexico and have not found Mexican food since we left in NM in September. We ate at Gringo's last night and really enjoyed our meal. The salsa was great and the quesadilla was very tasty. I also sampled my husband's smothered burrito which was just as flavorful. The service was very good and we... More

Tried to get a margarita around happy hour but they were out of lime juice apparently.. (they did a run to the store, but I temporarily heard the happy hour call elsewhere.. so i cant vouch for theirs...) But returning shortly after the magic hour expired, i had their "Smothered Burrito" with spicey mexican chicken. Just perfect in every way,... More

Went to Gringos twice while we were in Bocas, both times Gary (the owner) was there and entertained us with some stories. The second visit was before they were open but we were welcomed anyways. The food was very good and tasted pretty authentic. Gary can be a bit crusty though (he told us to say that B-)) and he... More

Went there for New Year´s Eve lunch and the place was OK. The owner was super nice, he gave us chips and salsa on the house. The portions were good and the food was good. What I liked: the waiter was nice, the portions were good and the food actually tasted mexican. What I disliked: the chips were burnt, the... More

This restaurant is closed at odd times and is a little difficult to find since it's off the main drag of town, but is definitely worth the find. They have great Mexican selections and strong margaritas. If you order the margaritas, get the large size, since the small is actuall small. The food is quite fresh and the service is... More

This is a great authentic Mexican restaurant which is off the beaten path. Just ask anyone and they will tell you where it is. Our taxi driver knew it right away. Go in sit down and you will enjoy it. They don't take credit cards. The staff was so kind they realized my wife was suffering from a cold, they... More

We had dinner at Gringos. We actually tried to go on a Sunday but it was closed. The owner was there and invited us back the next day. We arrived Monday evening and the service was great. The margeritas were strong as advertised. Our meals were tasty and filling. The owner came over and chatted and entertained us with a... More

We eat at Gringo's frequently and the food is always great. A little off the beaten path so you may need to ask where it is, but all the locals know.
