Had a great 4 days here. The rice and curry is very nice, rice plus 9 other dishes. The aubergine really really nice. The staff are very helpful and chatty, they arranged safari and tuktuk. Hot water always in the shower even though it was a fan only room. Would definitely come back. Look out for the huge fish in... More

Nice place, very quite, basic clean. But this is the service you require for the price. Could not expect more. People are very friendly. Should go there....

This place has a lovely garden and really friendly staff. Rooms are clean and relatively cheap. The food was excellent. I had the best chicken masala and my friend had roast beef that was very good as well. If you're coming to Polonnawura, I'd recommend Manel Guest House. If you do, ask for Layan.

We had quite basic room, but clean and quiet. Staff is very nice. But the best of all is the food. We had rice and curry, and it was the best one that we had during our trip in Sri Lanka.

This place had a lovely garden area overlooking a paddy field to enjoy a beer, great food too; but it's probably best to order many hours in advance as on both evenings we had to wait nearly two hours while it seemed other more sensible people ordered at breakfast. Rooms are basic though fine and the shower had great water... More

Because we have only eaten here, I can judge the guest house at it's dinner. From what I've read about Manel it's not really worth to spend the night. But I can absolutely recommend to eat here. The food was really delicious. When we arrived we were welcomed by about five men, who that night clearly had nothing to do.... More

Manel Guesthouse, Polonnaruwa is the worst hotel that i have been stayed in Sri Lanka!!! So dissapointed. The staff peeped people shower, the room is dirty. Please do not stay at this hotel if you travel to Polonnaruwa.
