ASk for the Chicken Koththu or the Chicken Buriyani. Great food, not the trendiest, but tasty food, forget the shabby appearance and eat it out

We ate here since it is recommended in LP and had generalle good reviews on Tripadvisor. The place was full of locals and seemed to be a nice place for dinner. We ordered some food and waited a little while for it to arrive. During this time we noticed that the restaurant was not, lets say, the cleanest. (3 glasses... More

The food was delicious and spicy. My family and I ate at the Muslim Hotel twice and we loved the food even more the second time around. The nan was especially wonderful at about 80 rupees. Less than a dollar and the lassi drinks were good. I ordered a fried rice special that was about 200 rupees! The prices are... More

Does not look clean or inviting. However, the food is good and VERY cheap. Toilets a bit basic, but clean. Efficient service. Great watching the roti maker at work. A great value local eatery.

We ate here twice, once it was great and the food was delicious, the second time was not good at all, the table was filthy and the food was not very nice - sharp shards of chicken bone in the meal, and I had an extremely upset stomach the following day.

Incredible value £ 3.00 for two and it didn't make us ill. Service from the highly eccentric waiter and sole menu and magically disappearing plates will be the stuff of anecdotes to come. Very filling and the best dahl ever! Further entertainment was provided by the acrobatic cockcroaches at my left elbow running arou d the partition between the outside... More

The short eats here were the best we had in Sri Lanka and ridiculously cheap. We found it hard to find good places to eat in Kandy, so this was a great discovery. It is old school and certainly not a glamorous looking place whick makes it even more authentic. Dont miss it!

Busy and a little hot inside, but well worth it as the food is really nice. Well worth a visit. Highly recommend the chicken!

Lots of people go in and out and the restaurant seems constantly busy. That's why we entered for some "take away" food. The place isn't spotless, it would need some woman's care;) so don't expect any romantic dinners here. The food however was good (no food poisoning after), maybe not excellent, but good. They have nice mango lassis. The restaurant with... More

This was the first place we felt we were considered like local people. They gave us the pot to clean our hands and tap water to drink. We really enjoyed our lunch. I had some egg and cheese kottu (very good) and my fried took some short eats and fried rice and was happy. The workers are friendly and helpful.
