This place is an absolute must. Get the biryani with roast chicken, absolutely incredible. A great local spot.

We had dinner at the Kandy Garden Cafe. Staff was very friendly and took his time to explain the menu and was honest by telling us that 1 dish would be plenty for the 2 of us. Very cheap food (400rs for one of the most expensive dishes) and very tasty. Locals come here all the time to get a... More

Don't stay just in the hotel or guess house for lunch or diner, go and explore, even if lonely planet guide wrote than the is not a good restaurant. For example this one was really, really, really good. A lot option and portion, really good price and the paradise of juice, just ask not to put salt in the juice,... More

This is the best and cheapest food that I had in SL. You can split a meal. The portions are huge. The fried noodles and roti are fantastic. It is not a touristy place, but it is really good! I highly recommend it. Make sure to go after 4:30pm, before that the food is really limited and doesn't seem as... More

the foods are good The food is big and tasty, the bill is cheap. Great staff make it a pleasure for foreigners travelling, and its used by many locals also. If you sit inside you will ha e to contend with the flies (depends how you are with flies) or you can take out.

This is a great place to eat some hoppers (aapam) and different types of curry. Since it is frequented by locals, the price is not too high. The waiter was very friendly and service superb.

The night I had dinner at the restaurant I can see many local people came to eat or bought takeaway. The foods were smell really really good, although the foods we ordered were spicy, I couldn't help but ate as much as I could. They were so good! The service was ok and there was no washroom in the restaurant.... More

We stayed in Kandy 2 nights and ate here twice! It was a couple of minutes from Vino Villa where we were staying. If you want to eat with the locals at a great price then this is the place for you. Ask what they have before choosing off the menu as they only do a smallish range of dishes... More

We ate here on our first and third evenings in Sri Lanka. It really set the bar high for taste and value. It does seem that timing makes a difference. We went early about 6pm on our first visit, it was great and we ordered some more, our next visit was later, about 8pm and quite a few Sri Lankan... More

This place is on the main road and was recommended by the lady in our guesthouse for very cheap food. It was cheap alright, a curry cost something like £1...however it was cold when it arrived. The man said the microwave wasn't working!
