Harvey William Presents or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Pisco Sour.

We were dog-tired and fresh off the boat from Lima. After dodging the hive of cab driver's at the Cruz del Sur station, my partner and I huffed it over to la plaza and made a round of restaurant viewing and menu gauging. Polleria, Polleria, Cevicheria, Cevicheria, nothing was catching. So, having... read more

I felt like one of the family in this cozy little restaurant off the Plaza de Armas! The decor is lovely- lots of great art and bottles of wine on the tables. The price was a splurge for me as I'm backpacking, but the sea bass au gratin with asparagus was heaven- something that would cost three times as much... More

We went there twice because the servers were willing to work with our broken Spanish to help us find vegetarian fare, which was ultimately delicious. I especially recommend the 'pastillares verde' or the lima bean and rice dish. But both times we were the only ones there, there were items on the menu that they did not have, and it... More

If you like basic but overpriced food - it's a nice enough place. Nothing special however and the waiter (owner?) will milk you for all he's worth including insisting you upgrade to his 'signature' (read overpriced) dishes, trying his 'special' (which it isn't) Piso and then, to add insult to injury, adding service charge to the already overpriced meal (practice... We went there on a whim as per recommendation from Lonely Planet. The owner greeted us so warmly - but you could tell he is a business man - a cross between Chef Gordon Ramsey (confidence in his food/arrogant) and Saul (breaking bad) and your local used car sales man. Of course, we were suckered in! He "encouraged" us to... More

Amazing food and a friendly service! We felt very welcome! The restaurant is passed down from generation to generation (3rd already) and the owner is one of the best bartenders in Peru! We tasted the pisco sour and it was amazing!! It's a cosy place with lovely paintings and a great atmosphere! We highly recommend this place to any kind... More

The oldest restaurant in Ica is run by the sweetest family. However, the warm welcome and service does not do enough to make up for the food. There is an overwhelming number of dishes on the menu but the owner 'recommended' what was available. The dishes that came out were bland, and in my case, the chicken had a sickly... More

I went here for dinner with a group of 9 people and we were the only people in the place (from 7-9pm). The menu was quite extensive but after talking with the waiter (who was also the owner), he clearly was steering people in the group to certain items since they only had a few ingredients in stock. Despite the... More

We went for a late lunch but they didn't have a lot of items that were on menu a little pricy but the food that was available was good. I don't think it deserve a number 1 rating if that's the case were in trouble..

After many kilometers by motorcycle and even so many plates with rice and chicken, we weren't that enthousiastic to try the pollo iqueño... But we did. Chicken stuffed with spinach an pecan nuts... that's something else!! More than delicious. To be honest.. .by the time we finished our plates we ordered one plate more to share. Accompanied by good Pisco... More
