good times

we ate dinner here several times during our recent trip to Huaraz. Their soups are great, portions are large and tasty, and they have good beer and dessert. highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner because we had read good things. Overall, I'd go again specifically for their chicken dish. Everyone was getting that around us! We branched out instead. I had the Lomo Saltado, a Peruvian classic and my boyfriend had the pork. His dish was really salty, mine was great. The service is a bit... More

This seems to be a popular place as it was packed with both locals and tourists. We ordered a whole chicken with fries but unfortunately the chicken was tough and partially undercooked and the fries - despite having asked for 'crocante' (i.e. crispy) - were soggy and we had to send them back.

A tiny entrance leads to a massive venue busy with locals. A large menu but most seemed to be here for roast chicken dishes. The food was great value for money and of a quality that belies the price, but it just felt a little impersonal and functional, hence only 4 stars.

In one month that we spent in Huaraz we ate at this place countless times. I just love their chicken. It is tender and falls off the bone. I always get quarter of chicken (Brest). It is a good deal and a lot of food. I love the spicy sauce they serve with it.

The food is really good. I had the famous Peruvian pollo a la brasa chicken and it was beautifully done, hot with great flavor. The restaurant has and comfortable atmosphere that feels high class without the price.

We dined with friends who'd raved about this place, both for the quality of their chicken, but also for the value. Given it was a cold night, we all actually opted for options we felt were a little heartier/suited our moods. We couldn't fault the efforts of the floor staff, who were quickly run off their feet (the place filled... More

La Brasa Roja- what more needs to be said! The Ancash region in general makes a bangin' roast chicken, but La Brasa Roja's chicken bangs louder than them all. Well cooked, spiced, delicious skin, and actually GOOD french fries (papas) make this place one of, if not my favorite restaurant in Huaraz. A quarter chicken breast meal (comes with salad... More

This place is great. It was packed (lots of floor space here), and for good reason! Upmarket ambiance with only slightly higher prices for the classic roast. Their chicken takes a local favorite to the next level. Amazing flavor, good fries, lovely array of sauces. Requesting additional avocado gets you a nice half pear. The chicha morada is excellent, and... More

This is a great restaurant, offering lots of Peruvian options as well room for big groups. Food: Good Pollo a la brasa, good chicken parmesan, limeade and more. The restaurant is big and has lots of room for big groups as well. I would say this is a great cheaper restaurant. I recently took a group of 7 people and... More
