Relies heavily on it's location on the square

Food was poor, as was the service. Also, beware the attempted 25% service charge on the bill, which we queried. When challenged, they showed us that it stated 10% in tiny letters on the back cover of the menu (who looks there?!). They grudgingly accepted 10% in the end, but not with good grace, and... read more

We were attracted to it by its outside decor. Big mistake for not checking with tripadvisor first! We were presented a bill with a 33% " tax and service". We asked why because tourist dont have to pay tax in Peru. They lowered the tax to 20% and said it is a local service charge and it is same for... More

Pestered by employees on the street, we agreed a fair deal before we entered, however wasn't met when we asked for the bill. Cocktails were good but small! Very small and crammed with ice. Food was good, staff are unattentive.

Ridiculous! We were dragged in cold hungry and wet by a tout after coming down from macchu picchu we were promised free nachos, no tax and good food. We got charged 20% tax, very average food and the nachos never made an appearance! We eventually argued the 20% down to 10% but this is obviously a tourist trap don't bother!... More

We stopped in to the Amaru while waiting for the train back to Ollanta. We only had time for desert, so ordered the pancakes with chocolate and bananas. They were massive! And tasty. The waiter was very friendly as well. Recommend a visit.

During our first evening in this town we ate here. Actually the chicken wasn't that bad, as were different other dishes. One of the waiters was quite friendly and made some small talk. Too bad they mixed our order up, but what we got was fine and we didn't raise this issue. Wifi worked fine. However, than the bill came:... More

Absolutely avoid this place! I wandered into here because I had forgotten to research restaurants in Aguascalientes beforehand and went with the one that seem to have more customers and had the most charming host in the front. Once I was inside and got onto the wifi, I found out with horror about the tripadvisor reviews. Too late, I already... More

We just came back from visiting Machu Picchu after Christmas and spent 2 nights in the town of Aguas Calientes. On our first night there we essentially entered at the first restaurant we found in the square, as it was pouring and we did not have the chance to look around. The place appeared charming, well decorated with folkloric themes.... More
