If you like terrible food and getting ripped off, you'll love Amaru. We had just finished our 4-day Inca trail trek and had a few hours to kill in Aguas Calientes, and the super aggressive women in front of Amaru waived us in with promises of free pisco sours. We thought that sounded good, so we went in. Here's what... More

Having just eaten at the Tree House the day before for the most amazing meal, we figured we would grab something quick in the square before heading to the train. We expected it to be a HUGE tourist trap with sub par food & exorbitant prices, but we did not expect horrible service and an additional 30-50% added to our... More

We just went for a cup of coffee in the morning. Same surprise as all other reviews; wrongly added Total (ie not adding numbers in own advantage) and including a ridiculous service charge that we have not seen before in Peru and that other reviews (that we did not read) indicate as Well. Going into discussion did not help as... More

3 of us stopped by to have dinner. We noticed 2 people sitting next to us having issues with their bill, so while we waited for our food to come out, we tallied what we ordered and worked out the total before hand. My brother and husband's food looked and seemed nice, mine however had a big problem. I ordered... More

We stopped by to stave off the possibility of feeling hungry upon our arrival into Cusco. We were not looking for anything fancy or authentic Peruvian. We had a simple pocket sandwich. The food portion was appropriate to satisfy. The staff was friendly. The price was a bit more than what we could have paid in other areas, and unfortunately... More

Outside I was offered to have a free drink with any meal. Inside I was given the smallest and weakest pisco sour....the food took ages and was inedible (the guinea pig at 60 soles !). Service was awful and when I got the bill the charged me for the 'free' drink and added 33% tax+service....I disagreed but they insisted. WISH... More

The only good things about this restaurant is the location (right on the main plaza) and the nice balcony seating (two levels). We had the worst food here from our entire time in Peru. Complete tourist trap, and definitely not authentic (trust me, I'm peruvian!) The service was also terrible. The worst pisco sour EVER (I get better pisco sours... More

This was by far the worst experience of an otherwise wonderful trip to Peru. The waiters could care less about service, and the food was poor and overpriced. Everyone has mentioned the 20-30% additional service charge added to their bill, but they tried to add 50% to my bill! I expected some kind of service charge, but they had originally... More

Please do not go to this restaurant. Terrible food and when the check arrived they added a 30% additional to the bill. We did not agree and they told us it was for service. Don't go there because they are only trying to cheat the customers. We tried talking to the manager but nobody was able to help us. Terrible... More

Not only the mussarela pizzas had a terrible sweet crust, but we were also surprised by a 33% addition to the bill. We were not told anything about this "fees" and it is not indicated in the menu. Worse was the fact that the waiter simply took our card and swiped into the machine, so by the time we checked... More
