Food not that bad but doubtful tax added

During our first evening in this town we ate here. Actually the chicken wasn't that bad, as were different other dishes. One of the waiters was quite friendly and made some small talk. Too bad they mixed our order up, but what we got was fine and we didn't raise this issue. Wifi worked fine... read more

We stopped in to the Amaru while waiting for the train back to Ollanta. We only had time for desert, so ordered the pancakes with chocolate and bananas. They were massive! And tasty. The waiter was very friendly as well. Recommend a visit.

Absolutely avoid this place! I wandered into here because I had forgotten to research restaurants in Aguascalientes beforehand and went with the one that seem to have more customers and had the most charming host in the front. Once I was inside and got onto the wifi, I found out with horror about the tripadvisor reviews. Too late, I already... More

We just came back from visiting Machu Picchu after Christmas and spent 2 nights in the town of Aguas Calientes. On our first night there we essentially entered at the first restaurant we found in the square, as it was pouring and we did not have the chance to look around. The place appeared charming, well decorated with folkloric themes.... More

I have to agree with several reviews that the fact that they add a tip to your bill is a big turn off; however, the food was not that bad! I had the Alpaca and it had a great presentation also, it tasted good. Maybe I got lucky! My mother wasn't so lucky though, she did not like her meal... More

If you like terrible food and getting ripped off, you'll love Amaru. We had just finished our 4-day Inca trail trek and had a few hours to kill in Aguas Calientes, and the super aggressive women in front of Amaru waived us in with promises of free pisco sours. We thought that sounded good, so we went in. Here's what... More
