Excellent seafood at amazing prices!

This place was such a find during our week in Vung Tau. We had been travelling more off the beaten track eating much more authentic and interesting Vietnamese food before arriving in Vung Tau, so when we did arrive we were desperate to find something that wasn't made purely for Western tastes. Its been two years since my last meal here, which was very disappointing I was very pleasantly surprised by the improvement in quality - fish was seriously fresh, and perfectly cooked (deep fried pomfret, steamed garoupa) the vegetables were also well-cooked, al dente asparagus and tender morning glory the major surprise was the bill, which was very reasonable service was... Nice place and good food with most local people there and a lot of people there during mealtime. Have been there several times and like this place a lot.

Cay Bang is definately famous in Vung Tau where you can find mostly local there. The food is good. The price is ok. The service is fast. However, sometimes it can be too noisy so if you are looking for a quite place then i would not suggest this place. Come, try and join in with the local to experience... More

It was famous for seafood culinary in Vung Tau for more than 30 years ago. Good food is the only thing could be expected. Cramped place with full of people during meals time. Pricey as their reputation raised up in many years. Anyway I still love their deep fried baby oysters dish, so delicious!

Cay Bang is undoubtedly the restaurant find of Vung Tau. You wont find a lot of tourists here because its not in the heart of the tourist drag but if your idea of an overseas holiday involves trying the local foods then then this is the place. It is right on the edge of the water alongside Tran Phu Street,... More

A very busy Sunday lunch, full of locals. The dining room is covered but opened to the sea. Our table is located on the right side facing the sea. We enjoyed the view on the sea and the the beach. Surpringly the beach on the side is clean despite only local people seem to be around. The food is good,... More

After reading loads of reviews we tried this for lunch today, veering away from the usual lam tong at the other end of the strip. On the upside my partners prawns were incredible and the wine was surprisingly cheap although trying to explain that we wanted wine was tough. The atmosphere is lowsy unless you, by chance, go when it's... More

we went to Ganh Hao for dinner in our Last trip to VUng Tau, and ended up being not happy at all. Service was bad ( it was a busy restaurant at the time we came), the fish and crabs we ordered wasnt fresh, it was like from the freezer cause inside the fish, it was not cooked properly. This... I'm not sure whether there has been a change in management/ownership, but this is not the restaurant that I've been frequenting for the last couple of decades..quality of seafood is average, prices have shot up..service is shoddy..I'm very upset as I really don't know where to go now for family style seafood in Vung Tau
