This was one of the highlights of our stay in Phi Phi. The food was fantastic and we are so glad we got talking to an American couple on the boat trip to PP Lei. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but venture in and have a meal. Its cheap too and the service is good. Highly recommend!

We ate in papaya nearly every night of our stay in Phi Phi and never regretted it! Portion sizes are on the large size so would reccomend sharing dishes, 3 between 4 is perfect - which is all the better as then you get to taste more dishes! Highly reccomend the massaman or else the chicken and cashew nut!

I ate here after several recommendations (and review reading) but was a bit underwhelmed. Having cooked thai food myself and eating it lots, I expected things a certain way/flavor/spice and it just fell short. It wasn't bad at all, just not the excellent taste I was hoping for. Still a good choice and value.

Yes it may look like a canteen- but look beyond and you'll find that this plain little restaurant focuses more on its food and the customer experience than the paint on the walls.. oh and making sure their cats are kept extra cool from the heat by putting them in the fridge (I'm not a fan of cats and I... Ordering the massaman curry was the best decision- delicious and full if flavor, with friendly service to boot. Papaya is a must visit while in phi phi.

I was really sceptical about this place... All the reviews suggested it was amazing with very little bad to say about it, I thought it would have a good reputation due to people wanting to put up a poster, have their name on the wall, without writing anything bad. Admittedly it lacks class.. It's more of a diner with posters... More

My boyfriend and I stayed on koh phi phi for a week and decided to try papayas because of the reviews seen on trip advisor. on our first visit the restaurant was packed, although had more or a cafe feel.. It was clearly very popular. We have since visited Krabi and returned back to Phi Phi for a further few... More

We ordered a dinner of the chicken spring rolls followed by the famed Massaman Curry. We chose the chicken Massaman. The order took a little while to receive. The spring rolls were served which were plump, with a light, crispy batter which was not oily at all. The curry arrived shortly after. We were not disappointed. Ordered extra spicy it... More
