great food fast, served by your friends

First of all, what a original place! The quality of Papaya is far too good for the run-down tourist hole that is Phi Phi. We both got the Masaman curry, and it is by far the best curry we've had so far in Thailand. The people working there feels like your friends and we'd love to go back to Phi... read more

I got the Masaman curry because it was so highly recommended and I LOVED it. My friends ordered pad thai and they were pretty disappointed (although it was highly recommended). The chicken on their pad thai was covered in a ketchup/barbeque sauce which seemed to ruin it for my friends. I really liked the paper notes on the walls from... More

We visited both papaya restaurants on phi phi. Once for breakfast and the pancakes we had were excellent! However also went for dinner, we had massaman curry, as this their speciality, which was a little more than we would usually spend (on backpacker budget) but reviews persuaded us to give it a go. The curry was ok, but we have... More

So good! I love my Thai food. Our waiter was lovely and recommended how 'spicy' for our taste. Food came out in less than 10 minutes - 3 dishes, panang curry, papaya salad and basil and chilli chicken. All delicious!! Cheap quick dinner and was so impressed.

We had noticed this place was always busy and they had a great thai menu so thought we would give it a try. The staff seemed a bit rude and abrupt as we went in and the service wasn't the friendliest. The food took quite a while which I didn't mind too much, just seemed quite unusual in Thailand where... The place has a nice vibe, cats everywhere, I'm more of a dog person. The spring rolls were good not amazing as other posts may suggest and probably the worst Pad Thai I'd had in the whole of Thailand, but it wasn't totally horrible. It's pretty cheap, I guess you you get what you pay for.

Every body talked about this restaurant and finally a visit paid off. Nice food, better than in most other restaurants.

We went to Papaya based on the Lonely Planet recommendations and were comforted by the crowded restaurant and sheets of paper with crayon markings praising the food. Papaya was good - it wasn't mind blowing - but in the sea of mediocre-at-best dining that is Phi Phi Don, I can see how it would leave a lasting impression. Note that... More
