If you are in or near Kantian Bay, you must go here to eat. They offer a great blend of western and Thai food. Breakfast all day. Their coffees are to die for! This crazy chill environment is perfect for an afternoon lunch, dinner or early morning breakfast. Choose your seating options from: simple chairs and tables to hammocks or... More

So found this in TRIP ADVISOR...and we were in Kantiang bay (best sunset) and decided to go in,also based on the reviews..but what we found we didn't expect!!! Drunken sailor firstly is a complete relaxation zone..don't be going with stress...leave it elsewhere...the music, the decor, washed up vibe, the sleepy black cat,the shoes at the door, the hammocks, the oversized beanbags or the fact that... The Drunken Sailors is not a typical restaurant, though you can enjoy quite decent thai food there (e.g. garlic rice, red curry shrimps, phat thai). No, for us it was the reincarnation of a backpackers' retreat (remark: no, we are not backpackers; so it's also a nice place for people like us)... Everything here is just a bit different. The... This is one of the most original and representative places in the little town of Kantiang. Warm and welcoming, colourful, with a laid back garden made of cushions and hammocks. Slow food carefully prepared by amazing May, professional cooker with an interesting experience also abroad. Maybe my only complaint is that they close too early for dinner (9 p.m.), but... More

Me and my partner came here twice and together had burgers and Thai food, both tasted amazing and cooked to great quality! The Thai food is just good from the Thai experience and their burgers are probably the best in Thailand - mostly due to their imported beef which is freshly grounded here. They offer daily specials which are unique... More

We ate here on a stormy night in low season and we pleased with the food and service we received. I ordered a ham and cheese toastie after having rice fatigue and my partner ordered thai red curry and asked for it to be thai spicy, he was not disappointed. The food was fantastic and we received it quickly after... More

Good food, great local coffee. Stay as long as you like, have a little sleep in the hammocks or just watch the world go by.

The laid back atmosphere, hammocks and delicious curries really helped us disconnect and savor being on holiday. This made drunken sailors one of our favourite lunch spots. We tried several soups and curries and found them all very good. Having come for a late lunch when the hammocks weren't otherwise in demand, we may or may not have fallen asleep... More

A great little shack on the side of the road, and they have a fantastic espresso machine they have nicknamed "Precious". I don't expect to get a great latte when travelling to a lot of countries, but wow this was a great surprise. My wife and I ate here for 5 meals during a 4 day stay on the island.... More
