George Bar as the locals prefer to call it is a no frills eating joint right at the footsteps of the main Panjim Church and is a meat lovers paradise. A lot of people might tell you to try the fish dishes but from personal experience I would rather favour the Chicken Xacutti, Pork Sorpotel and Beef Steak. The sausage... More

George is more of a Super Goan thn super sea food. They do serve indian and chinese stuff but dont ever try that in george. If you dont eat meats and sea food dont visit. Right in the heart of Panjim next to the Panjim church is George. They have a bar and are open almost throughout the day. The... More

Simple cafe but cheap and with a good Goa cuisine. The service was friendly . It's located near the the church of our lady immaculate conception and not far from the market and the old landmarks

It was in the rough guide and came by it as we were at the church in Panjim. Really grubby and staff hanging about. It was so bad we just had a kingfisher beer and left.. Kitchen had chef picking his nose!!

Right in front of panaji mary immaculate church is this goan food must visit place. Spicy goan sausages which make your mouth water with goan pao is one recommended dish and if thats not enough for your stomach try the sausage pulao. If you cant bear spicy food you need to inform the waiter though.

It's an old-timers hangout, and still retains some of the ambience of a goan tavern, can feel as packed in too in the evenings too. It's bang on Church Square, and when the traffic outside dies down, it evokes of times gone by. My favorites remain the goan chorizo chilli fry, sorpotel (with undo, a goan bread) and goan chorizo... Not a typical fine dine place but the fish curry rice was to die for...!!! Fresh and tasty and rightly priced too... Good choice for seafood if you are in Panjim area, a must try.

We were unfortunate to have many restaurants closed while visiting Bomjesus church.. We entered this little restaurant after much search (for options obviously).. No disappointments.. Crowded with tourists across countries, mostly elderly, courteous staff, good menu spread and laid back service.. We stuck to authentic goan food and ordered fish curry and beers.. Loved it.. Its easy on your wallet... More

Fell upon this little restaurant by the church as we wandered around. Service was excellent. Older waiter was extremely helpful. Held our meal and table while we went outside to watch fireworks and brass band. Really atmospheric. Food was good and cheap. No upset tums. We went back the next day for lunch and food was again very good.
