It's an old-timers hangout, and still retains some of the ambience of a goan tavern, can feel as packed in too in the evenings too. It's bang on Church Square, and when the traffic outside dies down, it evokes of times gone by. My favorites remain the goan chorizo chilli fry, sorpotel (with undo, a goan bread) and goan chorizo... Not a typical fine dine place but the fish curry rice was to die for...!!! Fresh and tasty and rightly priced too... Good choice for seafood if you are in Panjim area, a must try.

We were unfortunate to have many restaurants closed while visiting Bomjesus church.. We entered this little restaurant after much search (for options obviously).. No disappointments.. Crowded with tourists across countries, mostly elderly, courteous staff, good menu spread and laid back service.. We stuck to authentic goan food and ordered fish curry and beers.. Loved it.. Its easy on your wallet... More

Fell upon this little restaurant by the church as we wandered around. Service was excellent. Older waiter was extremely helpful. Held our meal and table while we went outside to watch fireworks and brass band. Really atmospheric. Food was good and cheap. No upset tums. We went back the next day for lunch and food was again very good.

Absolutely authentic Goan cuisine with no pretensions. Good service. Good atmosphere especially downstairs if you can get a table, otherwise why not sit upstairs and cool down in the aircon. Clean an tidy. And busy with locals at lunchtime, which says it all. The jeera rice and vegetarian options are to die for, and this is a carnivore speaking lol.

George serves up absolutely fantastic food in a really basic, plain setting, which actually adds to its charm. You can tell it's a favourite with locals and tourists alike, all piling in to feast on spicy chorizo rice, chilli squid, chicken calfreal (our favourite) and kingfish curry-to name a few. All really fresh and packed with flavour, and brilliant value.... More

George's is one of my favourite restaurants in Panjim when looking for a quick bite or take away. I make it a point to stop by once every three weeks or so. Their beef dishes and prawn curry are amazing. Though they have Indian and Chinese on their menu, I prefer to stick to the local fare and have never... More

We had awesomely tasting beef and chicken curry at George , its a basic restaurant with no jazzy illusions which keeps it as a good basic goan restaurant with good food. Its a must visit eat out place for me.

I was living in Goa for one year. And i really loved the food from that restaurant, the cooking is done very nicely. The best is the Goan meal the chicken Xacuti, very excellent. And the service is very good. I advice it highly. And the price is very good for the quality. I'm missing that restaurant. For me, it's... More
