Quaint with an old world charm

Venite is located on the mezzanine floor of an old Portuguese era building in the old part of Panjim. The ambience is cozy with dim lighting and lovely artwork and graffitti on all the walls. You can easily be transported back to the age when Goa was a hippie hangout. The quaint overhanging... read more

A Portuguese styled vintage restaurant in the meandering lanes of Latin Quarter of panjim opposite the casino jetty this once upon a time priceless jewel of Portuguese culinary delight has faded away into the dark reality of poor quality control and zero marketing leaving the field open to the new culinary new age successors of Portuguese tainted goan food dynasty.... Venite is a reference point for visitors to Panjim and the decor / ambiance is nice, however the food is overpriced. Afternoon service is abysmally slow (much better in the evening), the food is decent enough but nothing outstanding, and the prices are a little on the high side for what's on offer. The very central location in Panjim is... More

Easy to miss since the place is located in a very small street, but definitely worth searching for! We enjoyed the starters of cheese and olives and shared the Venite style barachoa which was delicious! A port lover should try the house wine. You get a real Portuguese experience, while being in India!

PROS: - The staff is very polite. - The interior walls of the restaurant is decorated with notes painted, sketches made by the travelers who visited the place. it's a treat to read the messages while eating the food which is again very tasty and organic. - It has small balconies overlooking the street which are beautiful and give the... We enjoyed a night out with the family and really liked the service and seafood . The restaurant had a bunch of other families there too. We had several fish special and the food was nice. Atmosphere is really nice too. Sat upstairs with a cozy feel that isn't cramped. Enjoy!

We found this restaurant on trip advisor and was recommended by our hotel. I was really looking forward to some traditional Goan food, but sadly we did not get any. We had starters of vegetable bread, which tasted of a cheap tinned soup and chilli potatoes, which were just chips with spices. The bread was served with chips too. So... More

This is a restaurant I have often visited, with good service and a western menu. I would recommend it for fish dishes. Though I will continue to there in the future, something is missing. Whether the decor has lost its novelty value or the menu is less interesting, its hard to tell what makes it less of a high point... More
