The Ex Pat hangout

Totally awesome beach bar. The friendliest people on the island, everyone just jells. Busiest spot on the island for after work half price happy hour. The food is typical pub style. We enjoyed a fabulous beach bonfire while we were there, a perfect place to watch the sun go down. Don't miss... read more

We got waved in by one of the staff. The place looked friendly and the BBQ food sounded good so we stayed. We had to wait a few minutes for a table to clear, but it gave us a chance to chat around the beach fire. We both had the 1/4 BBQ chicken which was good. It comes with 7... More

They poured a great drink, views were perfect and they had a killer burger. Went here twice while on Roatan and had fun both times...would like to have stayed up late enough to go down for the music but all the outdoor activities during the day left me too tired!

Went here on a Sunday to see Brion James play--who everyone was telling was a great musician. I enjoyed the music and found the food to be very nicely prepared. I'll be back as I am on the island for several months getting my scuba certification.

I would say if you don't do sundowners you are not human. must for everyone for a few cocktails. I love the beach scene where a lot of Expats hangout with locals. This is for sure an area where you get all the island gossip as well.

I had read about Sundowners before getting to West End and was eager to try the Monkey La La - a must try when on the island of Roatan. The location is great - right on the beach so you can watch the fishing charter come in and show off their catch and right by the main drag so you... More

We ate here because the "native" beachside food we had planned on was not cooking that day. We ordered at the bar and were pleasantly surprised...food is not amazing but is well made large portions, and they have a wide variety of beers and drinks. Plus, food for 3 adults and a teenage boy (so food for 5!), two sodas... More

As is clear from the name, a good place to watch the sun go down. Taco Tuesdays were a hit with us... Just make sure to get there early.

Sundowners is located at an ideal spot on the island. It is an open air bar and the owners are really kind and always nearby. My only challenge is the crowd there gets a little wild and questionable at certain times. It is busy at happy hour and there seems to be some "women of the night" milling around nearby.... More

We went here on the second day of our trip, mostly because of all the great reviews I had read on here. The beer is completely reasonable in price, especially for the bars direct beachfront location. The food we had was also good and we didn't wait too long for its arrival. What really turned us off though was the... More

Hello Brittsi: Sorry about your mediocre experience. While I feel there are something I cannot control that get me negative reviews, this is something I can. Please let me know what date you were there so that I may have a word with the bartender that was working. There is no excuse for poor service. Aaron Etches Owner More
