Pie was big slices and ice cream was good. They just doubled the price since we were not local. So that being said it was ok.

We just stopped in today for a slice of pie with ice cream! VERY good! Great texture and flavor. Just like in the USA. One little problem though. I just noticed a picture with Mora syrup on the ice cream but ours didn't have that. No problem though... ours was delicious!

I LOVE Shannnandoa pies, I have been going there since I was a kid, I am in my 30's now. The only frustrating thing is hat the owner is very unpredictable, sometimes she is nice, but most of the times she yells at people, does not have time to give you a receipt (if you need one), so what I... This is an interesting stop on the corner of the market. The food is really good and it is in a great location on the corner of Plaza de Ponchos. The owner of the shop is a little uptight at first, but as long as you eat and don't try to just use the bathroom, she is great. Make sure... More

I will be honest and say that many people really enjoy this place and the pies. I first had pie there in 1980 and it was already in the guidebooks, so it is somewhat of a tradition in Otavalo. Although the pies are not to my taste (too much cornstarch and the crust is not exceptional), if you are a... More

We thought this was going to be a 'meat' pie shope, but no its only desert pies, but they are AWESOME. They were in the middle of baking when we were there so only two on offer, they were passion fruit (maracuja) and chocolate meringue pies. They were fantastic, $3 for a huge slice and a large cup of black... More

A great lunch or snack place right off of the plaza. Simple sandwiches and a variety of pies are available. Sandwiches were $3 each and a slice of pie was $2.

Arrived late on Friday night and thought I would treat myself since dinner was inexpensive. The women working there were very friendly and the pie was great but relatively expensive ($4 for a slice and two scoops of ice cream). I would skip the ice cream next time to save a few dollars.

The Pie Shop is an institution in Otavalo. You can't quite figure out what hours it's open, they open whenever the pies are baked. But the pies are amazing, from chocolate, to apple to local fruits. Have it warm with ice cream, you'll love it! The chicken sandwich is also excellent and huge!
