Living in a past era

Many years ago it a was a good place to go. The place needs a renovation. They have the same chairs and tables for more than 20 years. Some food is still very good but the enviroment is terrible, crowdy and the staff is not friendly enough.

After reading the latest reviews, we were a little dubious about this restaurant, suspicious of its high rating amongst the Trip Advisor listings in Guayaquil. However, as we were staying in the city centre and we wanted somewhere local to eat on our first night, we gathered our courage in both hands and walked down there. First impressions were not... We walked from the courtyard Marriott by the airport (about an hour walk) and were thirsty and hungry when we arrived. The Brahma (local beer) was delicious. I had chorizo with eggs, rice, and a potato. My wife had shrimp. Both dishes were very tasty. They give you a very small amount of this salsa/pico de gallo that is so... More

We just arrived in Guayquil from Cuenca and after reading some reviews thought we would try La Canoa. A large bowl of potatoe soup with shrimp, a large bowl of rice and chicken soup were tasty and so they should have been. Add 2 beers, tax and mandatory tip and the bill was $34.00. I reiterate, it was tasty. Not... More

My girlfriend and I showed up in downtown late Saturday night. Everything was closed except this restaurant!! They had WiFi and hot, native food. Ended up saving the night by filling our bellies and allowing contact with our host family. Aces!

My son and I had lunch here today after visiting the park across the street. The food is pretty much average Ecuadorian fare. You can find the same quality elsewhere for half the price - for example a few blocks away in the food courts at the Malecon. The service is good and the waiters are professionals. But I expect... Thanks for visiting and review of our service. Sure our prices are very high for some people, but we consider their health and quality of our offer is priceless. We visit more than 1000 people a day and it is difficult to satisfy everyone's tastes, however we appreciate your valuable comments and we hope to return soon. More

Went to restaurant because it was in my hotel. The service was good as was the food. A beautiful restaurant to dine. However I found it to be expensive, even for a gringo on business. I will not return because of price, value. The wine was very expensive, double of what I had paid at another restaurant similar to this... More
