Since they were not, we had a late lunch there today. It would have been nice to have been hungrier and tried more dishes. We arrived around 2:30, about an hour before they close, and were immediately seated. I ordered a glass of red wine (followed by a second) and my wife had two glasses of sangria. Both were good,... Delicious tapas with a range of beers and wines at different prices (something not to common in Ecuador). The portions are big enough to share 3 tapas between 2 people and leave feeling nicely full. By far the best food we found in this particular area of Guayaquil. It's a 4 and not a 5 because they close early, so... More

There are some places that just feel comfortable to us. La Tasca de Carlos in Guayaquil is one of them. On a recent Saturday afternoon in December, my wife and I decided to take a break from our ramblings in downtown Guayaquil and struck a route for the 9 de Octubre corridor to look for a snack. 9 de Octubre... After attempt #2 to find this restaraunt (the sign is very flat and small). My family and I (a party of six) ordered a bunch of tapas to share. We had the octopus, antipasto, calamari, shrimp, tuna and more. To be honest a lot of them were average (but the best food I've tasted in Guayaquil). The only dish I... More

This restaurant is 15 minutes away from home and I visit it 3-4 times per year. The service is really good and also the food quality. Atmosphere is quiet and not loud music or so which makes it perfect for family meals. Restaurant is family owned with a plenty of tradition in Ecuador. The Samborondon area is very safe and... More

In their two locations, (downtown and La Torre via Samborondon) they go overboard to please you. Carlos and Victoria ( the parents) in the downtown one and Alicia and Alvaro ( daughter and son in law) in la Torre are used to treat you as family.. It sure is one of our favorite restaurants. We have known the owners for... More

Carlos and his wife Maria Victoria were so welcoming, kind, and gracious! I knew for sure that they just wanted me to enjoy the food and the total experience! Carlos picked the food and the drink and it was amazing! Thank you both for a lovely experience!

Great place to impress out of towners, food is okay, but their roof aquariums are quite interesting. Lots of famous people (local) come here.

The owners are very dedicated and attend personaly their guests offering their delicious Spanish all time favorites and more. The ambiance is small but cozy and their dishes are excellent.
