We were pleased with the cozy, quiet location of Vanjaka and our food was delicious. We had entrees of grilled lamb and grilled tuna w/ rocket and tomatoes. Both were cooked to perfection. However, the service was disappointing. We literally had to flag down our waiter whenever we needed anything. We found this to be unacceptable since we were there... More

I would strohgly recommend a seafood platter (which they call Hladni tris), a black risotto (Crni rizot s plodovima mora), home-made pasta (Fuzi) with prawns and truffle and grilled lamb, if you are a carnivour ;) By the way, if you are there on weekend, I would strongly recommend to book in advance. Definitely deserves a second visit!

The squid ink risotto is phenomenal! Easily one of the best risotto's I've ever had, and I've been to Italy a few times, and have never had risotto there as good as it was here. My Croatian seafood stew was also very good, though after the risotto it wasn't the star of the show. My brother also enjoyed his meal... More

A return visit – or rather, two – to this lovely restaurant where sitting outdoors in the quiet square was still pleasant in mid-September, waited on by friendly and efficient young staff. The first evening we enjoyed excellent skampe na buzaru (which here translated as grilled langoustines without tomato sauce) and a grilled whole fish, with a litre of Posip... More

Impeccable service from the young man waiting on tables, he suggested a decent wine to have with dinner (it was one he was in fact having a glass of himself). The black risotto, wish it was a never ending plate! So very good. Excellent main meals in both quality and quantity. Very enjoyable dinner and I would recommend. I was... More

Very good local wine by the carafe and particularly nice Dalmatian ham which we shared as a starter. Steak was prepared just as requested and service was pleasant and efficient.

We have been disappointed overall with the quality-to-price ratio in Trogir/Ciovo Island. We tried a different restaurant highly rated by TA folks, and it underdelivered and was overpriced. But Vanjaka was a breath of fresh air: excellent food for reasonable prices. I was suspicious because of its extremely tourist-friendly location next to the cathedral, but I'm so glad we went... Delicious food and excellent service We also purchased this place because of the rating on TA . It met all our expetation. We were group of six and shared three appetizer, octopus salad; black risotto. and pasta with shrimp. Everything was excellent. For the main we had fish with dark green local vegetable; very good. Staff was efficient and ftiendly.... More
