We have visited Alka while going to Trogir by boat, because of recommendation of yachtsmen we met. This traditional place is the most famous over there, I believe. Service was fast, food was outstanding. Mind its not cheap, prepare for the bill))

We had a fantastic meal here the first visit - our biggest meal all holiday! The service is extremely good despite being so busy and a fairly large restaurant. The food was superb and our steaks were perfect! The location is lovely and we watched the super yachts pull in and day boats go by. We loved it so much... More

After almost 20 years of coming to Alka on a yearly basis I felt very let down indeed to be turned down when I arrived with a sleeping (!) baby in a pram and my four year old and husband. We were initially told they had free tables. Then an older man ( never seen before, owner ? ) was... More

A small problem with our booking was resolved and it was worth waiting for. We found dining out in Croatia expensive, especially the better wines. Alka was a bit expensive but worth the cost.

It is easy to understand the overwhelming popularity of this fine Trogir restaurant. We headed for a beautiful inner courtyard for dinner only to find that it was fully booked for the entire evening. We were escorted to a rooftop terrace across the street, where we had simply superb service and a very satisfying meal at completely reasonable prices. Alka... More

In reading all of the previous reviews, yes, you are going to pay more in a tourist town like Trogir compared to somewhere off the coast, but that's often the reality of how restaurants and hotels charge when it comes to tourist areas. We had a nice rooftop meal (not brilliant, but not bad) - I had steak and my... More

Turist trap, made to look good and for good sell (and expensive), but not worth it at all. Me and my husband went couple of times at Alka and finally decide to not go there anymore, because of several things: first time I had a wonderfull fish, but a meat for my husband was terrible. Second time the fish was... More

We sat in the downstairs courtyard for our first visit. The taster was very much appeciated (this seems to be the norm in a lot of Croatian restaurants) and we both chose the lamb cutlets. Our waiter said that this would be a good choice for the month we were there (June) because it was still serving spring lamb but... More

I guess Alka is especially famous for meat, but I had black cuttlefish risotta followed by grilled trout. The risotta was interesting but made this a 5-star meal was the excellent trout and the wonderful service. The waiter managed, in a very gracious and non-patronizing way, to show me the art of deboning the intact trout, which was delicious but... More

An excellent find in Trogir. The restaurant itself is away from the busy street but the waiters show you the way through. W had two course, both excellent, and beer and the bill was very reasonable. Highly recommended.
