Lovely Fortress

Amazing Fortress - you can go in for a small fee - about 25 kouna (£2.50) and even sit on the top of the battlements - really worth a visit! We reached it by water taxi from Hotel Medena and the view on approach was breath taking.

we ate here on a number of a occasions both this summer and in 2014. It is a lovely court yard setting with excellent food, particularly the fish, and friendly attentive staff.

Enjoyed excellent fish platters for both courses. cold platter for starter included tuna carpaccio, anchovies and delicious calamari salad. Main course fish platter for 2 was big enough for 4 of us and included 2 whole white fish, two big shrimp and 2 calamari. All delicious. Our table position was poor though, in a narrow alleyway with view of kitchen.... More

A type of restaurant that was usual in Croatia before the improvement in the quality of eating places that occurred in last 10 years or so. Nice terrace with coal grill, usual selection of food, some of which is actually not badly made (e.g. Orada fish). On the other hand, awful wine of the house, unschooled waiters and they use... beautiful old building, minus roof, so the sky was a great bonus early evening. Food cooked on open charcoal oven and good. Staff efficient and friendly. Narrow streets very crowded and lots of competition between restaurants as expected in these tourist towns.

The menu was pretty generous and the fish plate for 2 just great! The nice thing is you can actually watch the grill where your meal is prepared. Do have patience since the kitchen is quite slow at peak dinner hour.

Very fresh, simply prepared and incredibly delicious food. We ordered fish pate, sea bass, mixed green salad, potatoes and chard. Heavenly. Very professional wait staff, perfectly prepared fish.

We had chicken and steak and some sides. House wine was not that special. Portions were big. Everyone in the family were happy. My husbands steak was perfect. Nice and polite staff. Might come again before going home.

Whole sea bream straight from the ocean to the traditional BBQ grill, add some garlic and a side order of grilled mixed vegetables and my wife was extremely happy - second best fish experienced in Croatia (after Lady Pi-Pi in Dubrovnik). Some minor disappointments however. We were initially seated amongst multiple groups of smokers and asked to be re-seated which... More
