The first night we ate at La Puntalina which everyone claims is the best seafood - however I beg to differ! Their views are amazing, but Scuba's food is WAY better! We had the mixed mussels starter (mussels, clams, and another shellfish in a garlicky, white wine/olive oil broth to die for) and the seafood platter for two (2 fish,... More

We couldn't get into our chosen restaurant on this particular evening and decided to look around for another. We had read that the Scuba was a decent restaurant and went there. It is situated on the main thoroughfare with outside seating and on our visit was not busy. We chose an outside table. Service was good with the waiter attending... More

We loved this restaurant and our entire meal. Our table was on the front row in view of all the people walking by - dinner and a show! We shared our appetizer and entree (sized for two) and had plenty. An incredible dessert followed by complimentary honey grappa. We also ordered the house red wine and drank every drop!

We had a recommendation from our local driver who told us that the quality of food is excellent and the prices are somewhat higher here, and he was actually right. We had the fish plate for two and the quality was excellent! There was a lot more fish/mussels/squid on the plate as well than expected. We had the local white... More

During our week stay Rovinj, my girlfriend and I visited this restaurant three times. The staff were always friendly, John (the owner) especially. He made us feel very welcome. Good value for money and beautifully cooked fish dishes. We had the platter twice! It was all very fresh. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Wow! Think it's the best soup I've ever eaten. The owner's father collects these onions in the spring and they make batches of soup and store them in the freeze. We were lucky to have ordered this savory delight and it was unforgettable. Everything we had here was very good and the setting was pleasant. Would definitely recommend this for... More

This attractive restaurant is by the harbour and has a large terrace for outdoor dining - always a thrill for British people. We had a fish platter for two with salad, plenty of the local white wine - it's cheaper by the carafe - and shared a dessert. The platter had one large wholefish - gilthead I think - languoistines,... More

Not sure how it's possible to mess up risotto but they did. The shrimp were small but acceptable. The alleged asparagus was unidentifiable. It had the taste and texture of what one would imagine if eating field stubble after harvest. On the other hand, pepper steak was cooked perfectly with nicely paired sauce. Staff was welcoming and engaging without being... More

In my experience, restaurants on the major "strip" of any city tend to be tourist traps with mediocre food but selling location, location, location. Scuba came highly recommended but, other than that, fit the description. I guess I was not surprised (but was disappointed) when it lived down to my prior experiences. The specialty is fresh fish and they have... More
