Decent food at slightly inflated park prices

I had one lunch and a couple dinners in this restaurant since I was staying at the hotel. It's solidly decent. I had calamari, which was pretty good and not rubbery and came with potatoes (kind of bland) and garlicky chard/mangold (good, but I only like cooked greens in small portions). I also... read more

There were hardly any other diners besides ourselves.....then suddenly a large Asian tour group arrived. The fancy dining room was quite large and the waitstaff were not friendly, but efficient. All the food was brought out on rolling metal carts, very odd. I had the grilled trout almandine, which was unexpectedly quite nice, with some bland vegetables. As this was... More

We stayed at the hotel Bellevue across the road from the plitviče hotel which didn't do food, and according to the receptionist at our hotel we didn't have much choice to eat for dinner (we came by public bus and had no car). Both these hotels are a bit more expensive than the rest of Croatia for a worse hotel... More

Having arrived at the ridiculously overpriced hotel and been bitterly let down I set my expectations very low as I entered the restaurant. I'm pleased to report that at least they didn't over charge for their atrocious impression of canteen-like food. This restaurant is very close to some very beautiful waterfalls. Keep reminding yourself that rather than wondering about the... More

We ate here while staying overnight at the Hotel Bellevue. The staff are nice but unfortunately the food is not very good. I ordered the battered hake which was soggy and the vegetables were really overcooked. It's a shame that this is the virtually the only restaurant choice if you stay near Entrance 2.

Remember these were government places they have not let go of the traditions and why should they for us itinerants. We had drinks on the terrace watching the last of the light over this fabulous national park. The Merlot was excellent and they made a good G& T. I had a veg risotto which was incredibly creamy and generous, had... More

We stayed at the Hotel and took half board as an "Option:. We were ready for dinner after a long walk and honestly it was fine. Not haute cuisine and quite 70's but convenient in a nice dining room. Staff in old fashioned waistcoats could have smiled more. We had a little Spaghetti Bolognaise, Chicken Brochettes and Chocolate Cake. More... More

This is fine for the included breakfast, but do youself a favor and avoid all other meals here, it is spectacularly terrible. It caters to large Asian tour groups, get in your car and drive north of the park to any number of inns for dinner.

It can be hard, I know, for a restaurant to cope with large tour groups all needing to be fed at the same time. But that does not excuse poor food. We were there as independent travelers for dinner. While the trout with almonds and the crumbed hake were just OK, the vegetables were horrendous. The boiled potatoes were alright, but... More

We ate dinner and breakfast here. Everyone in the hotel eats here since this is the only restaurant near the park. Since they are serving hundreds of people who are a captive audience, they don't take the time to make the food good. This place had the worst dinner and breakfast that we had during 22 day p.
