Description: Restaurant Palace Paladini is placed at the old ancient part of City of Hvar. We offer fish delicious, meat and vege specialities, greatest wines and champagnes (Dom Perignon/Rose, Crystal, Moet & Chandon...).The palace where you are about to eat belonged to an old noble family from the Hvar called Paladinic (Paladinis - Italian version; de Paladinis - Latin version).Palace de Paladinis, built in renaissance style, is one of the most beautifull and outstanding Hvar palaces, situated in the southern part of the oldest nucleus of the town Hvar below the fortress known as Forto Spagnuolo. The upper palace Paladini was once the residence of Petar Hectorovic. Coat of arms found above the main entrance to the palace, on the family well erected in the garden, on the renaissance basin on the balcony of the palace and on the balustrade of the balcony bares two motives: a royal lily on the upper field and eagle`s wing of Subic family on the lower field. The present-day form of the palace (ground-floor, three upper floors and a monumental balcony - one of the most beautiful in Dalmatia) was designed by Nikola Paladinic, son of Jakov, who fought very bravely in the seabattle between Venetian and Turkish fleet. After the battle the Republic of Venice proclaimed him the knight of St Marc with golden toga.Palaces of Hvar noblemen clearly evidence of economic prosperity and cultural development of the local families in the 15th and 16th century. Furthermore, rich plebeian families always tried to keep step with noblemen which is quite manifest from their residental palaces (Vukasinovic-de Lupis, Garguric) that equal in their beauty even the most famous of noblemen of the town Hvar (Lucic, Paladini, Hectorovic, Gazarovic, Garguric, Vukasinovic...) where not erected during the period of town`s greatest prosperity, but only after the year 1571 when turks burnt the town and 1579 when lightning struck the ammunition warehouse at the town fortress causing a tremendous catastrophy.

Looking for a nice meal with a local touch somewhere off the main beach parade street, we found the Palace Paladini offering a warm and nice backyard atmosphere. Predetermined to try the Hvar speciality of Gregada, we enjoyed a very nice meal and good drinks. We were well taken care of by the friendly staff.

Place is nice, a great garden but food is bad (sea food risotto with shrimps contains only one shrimp) pasta is extremely small and the guy serving couldn't care less. Will never go back

This was a nice restaurant with a lovely location in a small garden in the heart of the town. The food was very nice. I had smoked ham for starters and a fillets steak for the main. Both very good. The food is a little expensive and the service wasn't brilliant especially for the price. Overall not a bad place... More

Poor service, average food and big bucks. They think they are doing you a service just to serve you. Much better choices in Hvar and better value for money

My wife and I visited recently and loved this place! The staff were very friendly (not pushy at all), the setting was lovely and the food was excellent. We had fresh Tuna steak which was gorgeous and Lamb which my wife loved!

We have just returned from an amazing holiday in Hvar June 2014. This restaurant is in a beautiful setting with orange garden. Was welcomed by waiter with a fresh fish platter that looked amazing so ordered sea bass - I pointed and confirmed that this was on the menu at 260 kuna (approx £27 or euros) and they agreed. My... Once you have had your fill of the waterside restaurants with picturesque views - go here for a little recluse from it all in a stunning orange garden, with great food and excellent service.

Wonderful ancient backyard, overgrown old orange trees. Wow! And amazing black risotto, the best I ever ate in Croatia. A little bit over priced, but hmmmm. Waiter is not too fast, but you can admire the beautiful surroundings here :-)

We very much enjoyed it. Sat outside in the orange garden which was beautiful. Good service, did not have to wait for the food long, had a polite young waiter who cleaned the fish for me and was nice, also nice polite girl outside. I had chargrilled fish of the day, sea bream, which was delicious, with some chargrilled vegetables... More
