Stumbled across Giaxa and only had to wait 10 mins for a table in the lovely courtyard - was well worth it. Great waiter - funny, attentive and knowledgeable about pairing wine with our food. Tasty amuse bouche and homemade bread. We all ordered meat based mains - grilled veal chops, fillet steak and beef medallions. All very well cooked... More

Really beautiful restaurant and amazing food. Menu is quite small, but they do offer a range of fish and meat dishes. The desserts are the best we had on the island so def worth eating here!! Would recommend the monkfish!!

From the first moment you sit down at your table you know you are in a quality place. We were seated in the beautiful outdoor courtyard. The venue, service, advice on wine choices (reasonably priced) and the food itself were all first class. We can happily recommend this restaurant.

We had a very good meal here consisting of traditional Croatian seafood. Make sure to get the lobster pasta, huge portion and quite good!

This restaurant made our first evening on hvar truly romantic. The service is very friendly and the food is good. A little overpriced but that's expected since the place is very touristic. The only thing I would mention is that they sell a chocolate souffle in the menu which is a lava cake really, a bit disappointing when you expect... More

So the big day has arrived and we went to eat here at a beautiful place set behind a white washed 600 year old wall. The decor and the setting was lovely and eating outside in the warm sweet smelling outside air was lovely. All the starters were delicious, the mains we went on the recommendation of the waiter, and... More

Giaxa suprised me with an excellent food but also with excellent prices. I was really surprised how cheap can be the food in the Hvar's very center. Young, but still very experienced Chef Branko did terrific in terms of food matching, so don't hesitate to try his signature monkfish carpaccio or shark steak with granny smith apple. Seabass is also... More

Food ok, service unattentive and we didn't feel welcome. We were 3 guys and 3 ladies all above 35. Food was ok but we didn't feel welcome as the waiter did only the minimum.

Husband and I ate outside, sitting at tall tables and it was very romantic. We had stew with gnocchi filled with scampi. Food was excellent, but MOST of all who we like was their Sommelier IVAN, who recommended great wine with our meal. He was more than polite and kind person, who gave us so many useful information about local... More

Six of us had dinner here and it was fabulous!! Everyone had a good dinner. Get reservations, you'll need them! I even started with grilled octopus and it was delicious! And the service was very attentive! When we left after 10 PM there were still people coming in to dine, that's how good it is!
