Homely setting worth a visit for service and scallops!

Setting is great just behind the main square. Option to dine inside, in the courtyard or out on the small pavement. Opted for courtyard which was very quaint. Waiting staff were very knowledgable able to explain food and give suggestions. Starters of prosciutto and black truffle ravioli (very tasty... read more

An amazing restaurant recommend by our waiter in Dubrovnik as the old chef has moved to work here. The fish stew starter was mind blowing, full of flavours and great portion size for a very high quality restaurant. We were recommended wine that was delicious! Our waiter was lovely and gave us truly great, great service. Our main courses were... More

The first thing you notice is the old stone interior, accented by funky, colorful sculptures hanging from the walls. Then the menu draws you in with delectable selections and excellent choices of wine. Try the beef medallions with truffle sauce. Pair it with a Croatian Plavac Mali. Excellent! The best meal we had on Hvar.

Dining at Giaxa provides an experience. The food is fabulous, the setting is stylish and gracious, and the service professional and attentive. Highly recommended. We chose to sit in the ancient lane way with creamy coloured stone walls, and copper plant holders displaying fresh dark red geraniums. The menu included both Hvar favourites and Giaxa distinctive options. I chose the... More

The restaurant was highly recommended by the tour company. We dropped in for dinner and the waiter recommended the two traditional Croatian fish dishes. They were pretty good, but we felt that for the price there should have been a wow factor with at least one of the dishes. The one with the tomato base was better. I guess that... More

Lovely experience at this place. The staff were warm and welcoming. Knowledgable about food ingredients and allergies (two of which are very important to me). They were generous, giving us extra bread when I went on and on about how much I loved the buns (seriously, these buns were amazing) and even gave me a different wee complimentary taster when... The food is very well prepared and tasteful. During the lunch they offer a complete menu: starter, main course and dessert with good price.

Well on island Hvar you must expect that prices are higher than on mainlad. So this place is good located, close to city center, nice and clean with good staff, quick, excellent service and what is important good food. Yes, as I mentioned it is little more expensive then ussually in Croatia but you will be satisfied, I recomend it

My husband and I were in Hvar all too briefly this past September and, luckily, had the good fortune of finding this restaurant. We were treated very well and chatted for a long time with a beautiful lady - one of the owners. Food was delicious!
