Charming venue with excellent seafood dishes

This restaurant is situated in the old town in a former medieval palace. It’s charming, and it has outdoor seating, which is great on a warm evening. The meal, typically quality seafood dishes, were excellent, each one tasting fantastic. Portions were modest and well presented. The service was... read more

It was a rainy night so we went out without any expectations. The interior of Giaxa is very minimalist with white walls interspersed with parts of original palace stone and a few coloured cast sculptures made by a local artist, dimmed lights and simple but stylish tables and chairs, after a cover of biscuit-style fresh bread and a shot (im... We ate in the small courtyard to a delightful lunch. Service was attentive and friendly..the fixed meal for the day was excellent and very good value. The pasta with basil was very good as was the fish of the day. The salad was excellent and the dessert outstanding..off a small street but worth the stop.

We ate here twice during our stay, once in the street and once in the courtyard, both of which are beautiful! The staff are great and the food was really good, up there with the best restaurants I’ve been to; beautiful presentation and the bread is to die for!

Drawn in by the pretty setting and sold on the seemingly good value menu at 190 KN (which included Amberjack as a main course fish I wasn't familiar with but was told it was a white fish with the same texture as Sea Bass by the hostess), I was horribly disappointed by both the food and the service. My olive... More

Lovely atmospheric restaurant in the narrow streets of Hvar. Good service, excellent food and good local wines.

Beautiful setting when dining inside. Restaurant is a few steps down a narrow lane off the main square. Service was very good and friendly. Our party of 7 all enjoyed their food. A little more upscale and pricier than most places in Hvar, but still reasonably priced for the quality. Didn't eat at a lot of places, but the best... More
