Maya is a little hard to find (if you go by some of the reviews on TA that is). Just go to Maya's website and it couldn't be easier to find. Dare I say best Indian food in China?!? Add in the impeccable service and this place is a no brainer.

I ate there with my girlfriend and we had a blast. We ordered the butter chicken masala and the ultimate burger, both were wonderful. The mis of the place was also very pleasant.

Food was enjoyable after many days of Chinese food. Ordered the chickpea curry with roti. Large portion and came with a delicious side salad. The owner was friendly and service was prompt.

Haven't had a juicy homestyle bacon cheeseburger and fresh steak fries in a long time. Scrumptious! Friendly service and wifi too. On the way to black dragon pool, it's worth the 30 second detour for a real latte and real cheesecake. Will be back and tell others!

Honestly speaking, I cannot really confirm what has been said about this restaurant before. There only advantage is, that there is no other Indian cuisine anywhere else in Lijiang. Don`t really understand why this restaurant is rated no. 1 in Lijiang? The chicken curry was average, the Roti was not very exciting either. We ordered some drinks first and had... More

After months of Chinese food, we visited Maya Cafe looking to fill our desire for some good Indian food. We were not disappointed. The butter chicken and veg curry, ordered extra spicy, were tasty. The roti and rice accompaniments were good, too. The owner spoke English fluently and the English menu was a nice welcome. There are few Indian choices,... More

On our trip to lijiang, because my husband is not a fan of Chinese food so we tried out the Indian at maya cafe. We had the chicken masala & vegie curry. They were delicious but lacking in the spice department. My toddler who usually screams spicy ate most of the food. The atmosphere is causal and the American waitress... More

I had two dinners at Maya Cafe. Am afraid I had the same dish - vegetable curry - but it was a real one. The couple who own it are Indians who moved to china many years ago. Ingredients come from India. They are very friendly. The place is cosy. Closed on Sundays and closes around 8pm so keep that... More
