Bamboo Cafe has moved to a much better location, to a new area for restaurants and guesthouses near the East Gate of Dali Old Town. They have a garden and small bar. The new place has a wine cellar and other facilities. I think the service is better than the old location as there is more family involvement in the... More

The food I tried wasn't so great, but It's a great place to hang out and have a few drinks in the evening. Outside you can people-watch, but I liked hanging out in the low-ceilinged wooden interior. It's very atmospheric. Reasonable prices, too.

Good food, speaks English and lovely atmosphere in the middle of a bustling street. Great place to see and watch the world go by!

Good food, western, Chinese and local Bai cuisine recommended. Unexpensive and friendly. Good wine, cheap drinks, a good place to make friends too

This place has some good and some bad....the good was the grandmother potatoes and noodle dishes. The bad are the spring rolls that just did not cut it. The staff was very nice and the food came out fast. They have a full bar but the drinks are not cheap. I'm also not big on resturants that have a HUGE menu.... More

In the couple of times I've visited Dali, Bamboo Cafe in Renming Road, Dali Old Town has become our favourite happy hour meeting place. Not only is the ambience appealing and the host very welcoming, but also the menu is extensive. We particularly enjoyed the seasonal Bai specialities. It is also an opportunity to seek advice about the area or... More

English speaking proprietor, Chinese, Bai, Western & Japanese food. English sub-titles on the menu. I had fried peanuts, fried rice with egg & ham, beef & potato with veg soup & a Dali beer 68 yuan (£7). Delicious, couldn't eat it all.
