A hidden jewel in Birmingham

We just had one of the best meals we have ever had in Birmingham! Amore is hidden in a little strip mall, but well worth the drive out 280! Reservations are recommended as the place is small. We were completing a week long Bicycle trip and wanted to finish the week with a good meal. Asked for a recommendation from the hotel's front desk, and we were extremely pleased with the meal, the ambience, their willingness to fit us in and the overall experience. Food and wine were fabulous, hostess made a point to chat and answer... More

We eat at Amore at least a couple times each year. This is one of our "special occasion" go-to places. The food is consistently very good. I had the Frutti di Mare. It was excellent. I also had the Pasta Fagioli. It was good too. My wife had crab cakes. They are a specialty of Amore and always excellent. It... More

My husband and I ate at Amore' while staying overnight in Birmingham. It was just wonderful! The owners were there and were both working and taking care of all the patrons. So friendly!! It is a small, dimly lit, cozy little place, with truly Italian atmosphere. Reservations are recommended. Truly a pleasant experience!

Went for Valentines DAy, two days early. Our first visit...we have wanted to go for a long time due to good reviews from a friend...we hate to get in 280 traffic. IT IS WORTH IT! You can see why you need reservations at night...the place is so small, but it is a jewel and you are treated accordingly! Our greeter... More

This place is truly a hidden treasure. Small and intimate. They are so nice, you don't feel rushed. The food, OH MY MY MY, truly authentic Italian food. The food was so fresh and hot. They give you a lot of food, could have divided mines into 2 meals. HIGHLY recommend reservations at least a week out. They are also... More

Excellent restaurant! It's tiny, so be sure to make reservations. The owners were very flexible and were able to seat us earlier than expected. The rolls were out of this world;I only wish they would share the recipe. The menu had great options for beef, seafood, pork. This is very much a gem. The service was only topped by the... More

I have to say I was surprised! The service was very attentive. The food was really exceptional. The Grouper and Crab cake Entree I ordered was outstanding! I enjoyed rolls, bruschetta, a house salad, and steamed clams as an appetizer. I also ordered a cosmopolitan while we waited on our table. Very nice! I want to say, I am not... More

What a great restaurant. The owner and his staff go out of their way to accommodate the wishes of their guests. The food is top notch equally if not better than NYC. Never heard a negative thing about this great place. Will continue to go there as much as we can.

This out of the way, tiny little place, is worth driving miles to get to. One might never expect to find such a classy place in an office-like building next to a dentist and mortgage company. Reservations are required because it has limited seating, and the chef plans the daily menu changes based on expectations. There are daily specials, but... More
