Outstanding Dinner At Birmingham's Most Celebrated Restaurant

Highland's Bar and Grill never disappoints. Last night, a group of friends enjoyed a wonderful dinner in celebration of 2 birthdays and a retirement. We were welcomed warmly, lead to our table and personally greeted by the Executive Chef and owner, the renowned Frank Stitt and by our server Goren... read more

I ate here as a single diner at the bar and in general the food and service was good. Based on the prices and reviews it could, and should be better. The bartender was easily distracted by a lovely woman that walked in, and while she was attractive, I need your attention while ordering and asking questions. That's right, the... More

On a busy Tuesday night we arrived at our reservation time and were seated immediately. Drink orders were taken by our waiter who then gave us a countdown on the entrees. We appreciated his letting us know which dishes were in short supply. The drinks and an appetizer of figs topped with prosciutto-wrapped pecans arrived quickly. The interesting mix of... More

We didn't have a reservation and it was a busy Friday night, but we did get a table in the bar, which was packed, but the service and food were still quite good. The waiter recommended a nice wine and it turned out to be a lovely experience. I have never been disappointed with Higlands, and though it's a bit... More

Highlands never disappoints! A friend and I sat at the bar last nights dream everything was spectacular: oysters, tomato salad, rabbit and wonderful desserts! Definitely the best fine dining in our great city!

On our road-trip through the South we decided to spend a night in Birmingham, Alabama. This was the first visit to Birmingham, so we wanted to experience the finest restaurant in the city. All the food reviews that we read indicated that Highlands Bar & Grill was the place to go. Reservations were made weeks earlier on Open Table, which... More

My wife and I stopped in to Highlands on a Thursday without reservation and were immediately seated at a booth in the bar (where we wanted to be anyway). The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. The menu is spectacular and changing. I was torn between the rabbit and the bouillabaisse and opted for the fish stew. My wife went with... More

The meal was served very professionally. It looked great, as always. It is always a pleasure to drive to southside and visit Highlands Bar and Grill

Not just in the top 3 restaurants in Birmingham, it's truly one of the best restaurants in the country. The food is amazing and the space is classic. While the prices are high it's certainly not on the same price level as fine dining in New York or similar.

Always a great meal in a lovely setting. Just a little loud later in the evening so go early if you want to talk over your meal.
