Not so great this time..

Have eaten at Jim & Nicks several times at the Hwy #280 location and was very good. This week we ate the the 5 Point location and found it was not so great. The waiter was not very friendly and never checked back , we always had to flag him down. The BBQ contained some fat, which I had not... read more

Only the best BBQ I've ever had and the cheese biscuits are out of this world. I brought some ribs back to Florida for my husband and he ate two pounds all in one seating! Need I say more?

I helped a friend host a rehearsal dinner for her son and future daughter-in-law at The Club at Highland, and Jim 'N Nicks catered the evening. Brandon (Brendan?) managed the evening - first by terrific phone communication, and then he spent quite a bit of time the day before the event actually at the Club at Highland to fully understand... We stopped here on our way home from NOLA and we so glad we did. I ordered the Big Baby Ribs and it was such a huge platter. My husband definitely had to help me finish it. They were perfectly cooked and the slaw and home made chips complimented the meal nicely. My husband ordered the pick 2 plate and... More

You don't hang around for decades if the food is not good and/or it's not perceived as a good value. A BBQ icon on Southside, it's great smoked, traditional Alabama BBQ, some of the best anywhere. I don't give them a 5 simp[ly because it's not MY favorite BBQ. There is a lot of good BBQ in Birmingham.

We love BBQ and Jim & Nicks is a good spot when in Birmingham. This was my second time visiting and the experience was a mixed bag. The highs: the pulled pork was incredible. The collard greens were also great. The banana pudding was definitely worth getting. The service was awesome. The lows: the brisket was very dry, bbq sauce... More

Ordered baby little ribs, slaw and French fries. Everything cold French fries old and warm... More

Loved their cheesy biscuits! I could have ate those all night. Their fresh lemonade was yummy too. The night we went they were out of ribs, brisket, and many of their sides. That left Turkey, Chicken and Pork sausage. Sadly, we weren't told that they were out of the items we wanted until we placed our order and the manager... More

We were sincerely welcomed and seated promptly. We had nachos for an appetizer. Yummy!! The ribs were also excellent. There's a great vibe in the restaurant. It was filled with lots of college age people. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Our server was very personable and very attentive. We stop in Birmingham regularly on our way from here to...
