My wife and I traveled to Birmingham to support my sister at a Gospel Award Show. (She won praise and worship song of the year!! CD is titled Conqueror and is available on itunes, google play, amazon.com, CDbaby.com and other places - http://www.daniellekelleymusic.com/ - Sorry for the shameless plug) Anyway, we decided to venture out into the Birmingham area to... On a recommendation from my hotel, I had dinner at the bar at this Five Points location. I settled on the Double Decker sandwich, which is a combination of pulled pork and beef brisket on a three piece bun, skipped ordering the extra charge side, and it was plenty to eat; it's a very generous sandwich. Also tried the Oka... More

All I need to say is good BBQ, Mac n cheese, and slow-cooked collard greens. This makes for the perfect southern meal on a Sunday afternoon. I like the brick and old-school look of the place too.

Their service is usually pretty good, and I developed my favorite servers at each Jim-n-Nick's I have eaten. (I used to go to Jim-n-Nick's in both Alabama and Georgia on a regular basis, before my job changed and I rarely get to where there is one.) To those who have had problems with their service I'd say, you probably had... More

I stopped by for a late dinner while working in Birmingham. The bartender was extremely nice and had great service. She recommended certain items and drinks. I had the brisket, which was good. Nothing about this place really blew me away, but I was very pleased at the same time. They were closing after I arrived but I never felt... More

I got a $10 chicken sandwich. It was supposed to come with a side. I wanted a salad. It was supposed to cost $2 extra which is a ripoff. Instead of $2 he charged me $4.95 for a small salad! A Miller Lite was $4.95! No sauce on the table except extra hot habanaro. When we FINALLY got some other... More
