Counter order, then be seated and they bring it to you. VERY helpful young lady at the ordering counter. Varied menu, lots of items, but not overwhelming. Promptly served. All was very tasty, and our family group ate well, on the porch on a pleasant day. Not a five due to having to go back in to reorder, but that... More

Rojo is just awesome. Go there if you want a casual place and you want to be able to sit outside. The food is great but you have to order at the bar (no table service). The only downside is that sometimes they are so crowded you have to wait for a table but I'm sure on any busy night... More

Rojo is one of my favorite lunch spots, my usual go-to. But, I hadn't been there since last year, I believe. A friend and I met for lunch, and while it seemed like lots of people were arriving, there were always available tables. I usually get the spinach & mushroom quesadilla or Tex-Mex shrimp on salad. On this day, I... More

Great Mexican food.. made to order and plenty of it. Stirred Margaritas were tasty. Chicken tacos reasonably priced.

Our first trip to Rojo and the weather was so nice we dined on the patio. The people watching is great since the patio is so near the sidewalk. If you are a dog lover there is a cooler for pets to have a cool drink as they walk along. Place order and pay at the counter, your food will... More

Fun little out of the way place in the middle of Highlands neighborhood serving both Mexican and American food (menus available online). We had Mexican entrees, and they were very good but not too spicy. Best seating is outdoor to enjoy the atmosphere of the neighborhood, but they do have a few tables inside as well. Good selection of beer,... More

I was with a large group visiting B'ham and this was a "must eat" place from a local that one of our party knew. Unique atmosphere in what seemed to be a neighborhood setting. We had to park quite a distance from the restaurant and walk, but it wasn't too bad. Stood in line to order at the register, then... More

I was driving through Bham for work with 2 friends (associates) and went here on the recommendation of one of the people with me. It was a great recommendation!!! It is very casual and quick and fresh. there is a full bar with several Margarita's specialties. I had the Paella with shrimp and it was REALLY GOOD!!! It came out... More

Good beer...great location...happy dogs...decent food. Good place to end the day/start the weekend. Sit outside and people watch. No barhops so it's kind of self-serve (they will bring your meal out to you but you have to go in to order/refill your beverage).

It's definitely not a typical restaurant...you order from the front, they give you a number, and you seat yourself. Food was pretty good, and was fresh and hot at arrival. Parking is def and issue in the area, but I'd say it's worth it.
