Being at Chez Fon Fon feels like being in a lovely bistro in the French countryside if you can, get a table near the bar and enjoy the crowd that flocks there for after work on Thursdays or Fridays. The on,y problem you will have with the menu is deciding what to order because everything is so good. And the... More

A pretty authentic bistro without the French greasy walls and old wines. Both inside and outside were appealing (with typical uncomfortable chairs, so they'd be French). The food was creative. Good apps -- escargot and pate for us which were both fine. The main courses we had were: the lamb provincial (nice, but too much so made a good lunch... More

My husband and I had dinner at Chez Fon Fon last night and opted for the special Bastille Day Menu which included ratatouille, Coulibiac of salmon, buckwheat crêpes, wild rice and brioche, a fruit tart for dessert, and a glass of Côtes-du-Brouilly Château Thivin all for a fixed price. Everything as fabulous, as usual, including the service! This restaurant is... More

My wife and I recently ate at Chez Fon Fon in Birmingham, AL. We had an excellent meal, outstanding service and at a fairly reasonable price. I had the hamburger which I had read about in news and magaziine stories. It was highly recommended, and I was not disappointed. The best hamburger I have ever had! My wife chose the... More

Slide up to the bar and imagine you are in Paris. Great wine, great drinks, great French food. Loud and crowded so go early or late. You can't go wrong with a Frank Stitt restaurant.

Who would have thought of such a great French food in Birmingham ! Small restaurant old setup but great friendly southern hospitality. Service is friendly and prompt. Soup de jour is excellent. Bread is good. Lamb dinner dish is so good and reasonable price. 7 layers coconut cakes is sweet and great with coffee.

I can't believe we waited so long to visit Chez Fon Fon. We loved the Charcuterie platter and cheese selections. We've also had the Moules-Frites, Croque Madam and my husbands favorite, the Hamburger FonFon. That burger is craveable! Casual, comfortable atmosphere. Great food and great portions!

This is a small but wonderful place with a great menu and very attentive service. The dishes are fresh and unique and you are made to feel at home. This place should be high on your list. Go early or wait to eat.....it is worth the wait and price.

Visited for the first time, and they did not disappoint. Our server Brent was fantastic. He made several wonderful recommendations and was attentive without hovering, a gift that so few waiters possess. All of our dishes were top notch (especially the Lamb Navarin) and the dessert was the perfect ending to a perfect lunch. Can't wait to try this place... More
