For the last 5 years I've worked within walking distance to Taj India and wish I had known about this place before. The Lunch Buffet changes daily and is at a great price. If you are not accustomed to Indian food then I highly suggest the buffet as a way to give it a try. Every thing here is fresh... More

Decent Indian Food, friendly service. Family owned and food and service depend on which family members are working. Buffet lunch and order off the menu at night. They have two festivals a year that are packed, make reservations for these events. Otherwise can always get a table.

First, let me state the food is well prepared and authentic. The staff are very attentive, nice, and helpful. Now having said that, I must say it simply is not for me. I hate cilantro, and I quickly learned to my disappointment, this is a favorite Indian herb -it was in everything --almost at the molecular level. All I could... More

My wife and I love Taj. We have 2 Indian restaurants we frequent. Taj and Silver Coin. For the price and taste we always choose Taj. I just wish they would bring the coupons back to the Enjoy the City books.

Taj India provides an opportunity to sample a variety of authentic Indian dishes at a very reasonable price. We enjoyed the lunch buffet which included many different dishes all of which were EXCELLENT. In addition, the service was IMPRESSIVE with very attentive and friendly servers. Honestly I would have happily paid twice the price for this dining experience.

We had dinner here and found the whole experience to be average. Food was good, not great. Ditto the decor and service. Probably would not return.

This is the third year in a row we went for the Festival of Colors and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is a local favorite - great food, great service, at a fair price. We started with the house salad (apples, cucumbers, raisins, corn) and then went on to the dinner buffet where we tried a little of this... More

Taj India is a very popular lunch spot in Southside. I've been dining there for years and have always enjoyed it. The lunch buffet is especially good. Give it a shot.

I am a vegan, and this place is like paradise for me. A lot of other Indian restaurants feel the need to "Americanize" their menus, and I feel that the entrees offered at Taj India are more true to their origins. Not to mention how beautiful and elegant the decor is.. it's just an overall great dining experience.

Great lunch buffet for $6.95! Very fresh vegetables used in different types of relishes/salads. The choices for main dishes included two different types of rice - Basmati with vegetables and a saffron rice. The curry sauce with dumplings was spicy and wonderful. The best dish was a ground lamb dish. There was cabbage, an eggplant dish, roasted chicken, among others.... More
