100% Satisfied

We will be back here. The service is top notch. There is so much on the menu we want to try. We got one of the vegetarian samplers and had enough for lunch the next day. If you haven't been here, don't put it off. This place is a jewel in Birmingham's restaurant scene. One of the best Indian... read more

id read a few reviews on taj india, most of which were good, but I still found this place to exceed my expectations. it IS in a strip mall, but its a funky old strip mall with glass block, since I like funky old things with personality, this was a nice surprise. inside the restaurant was just perfect... a warm... You must like Indian food, of course, to appreciate this restaurant. I started out just going with friends nearly 20 years ago, and at first had no taste for it, at all. But after I got used to it, I realized that the flavors were savory, spicy in a new and different way (at least for me) and highly satisfying.... More

I wish I could give a negative rating for this restaurant. Let me start off with what we've ordered. We started with samosa chat, bhel puri and chicken 65 for appetizers. Bhel puri was all drowned in some weird gravy and was the worst I've ever had. I never knew someone could be so bad at making bhel puri which... More

Recommendation by Bangladeshi family friend well justified. Food was outstanding, service first class, and most reasonably priced. Everything was fresh, great paneer, and as good as Birmingham, England!!!

A plethora of wonderful goes on in your mouth. Sizable portions. Spectacular taste. Wonderful staff. Googled Indian food on our way back to LA and so glad we did. Would definitely go again.

My bf and I visited on 12.19.14. After drink orders and them bringing the papadum and chutneys to the table, my bf, said don't eat the papadum.. it is hot. Papadum -- hot? hmm. so I had to try it after that.. yimminy!.. The decor was decorated for Christmas, Indian Christmas music in the background and what appeared to be... More

I was passing through Birmingham en route to Northwestern Alabama and I thought I would give another one of the towns many Indian restaurants a try. This one is located in a quirky area and has a nice interior. The staff are very friendly and the food is varied and very good on the lunch buffet. Lots of choices and... More

We regularly drive the hour plus for Taj because there's just not much access to Indian food where we live and Taj is good. We've had dinner as well as their lunch buffet. It's good, wholesome Indian food...nothing special or cutting edge. The decor is dated. The staff are reserved. It's inexpensive and predictable, but satisfying.
