We were traveling from Memphis having seen Pearl Jam and needed to find some food and found this on trip advisor. Oh man was is worth the stop. We both ordered the greens an pork and it was fantastic. Pork and greens atop cheesy grits with a great sauce. Thin fried onion rings atop made it. Friendly folks. Worth the... More

I love me some BBQ and I wasn't disappointed when I drop by this place. I read some of the reviews while planning my trip to Birmingham and I said I would pay them a visit. The BBQ was some of the bets I ever had. I had the rib tips and I must say I return the next day... More

Recently we found ourselves in Birmingham for an overnight stay and decided to try BBQ at Saw's Soul Kitchen. Not only was the food delicious, the experience was awesome. This is a must do great food and fun time!

The reviews were spot on. The place is a dive with only a few tables inside and out. We waited about an hour before we received the food but it was worth it. Tender pork sandwich with smoked wings as an appetizer. This place is a well oiled machine of tasty bbq, a must have in Birmingham.

Small, divey-looking former barber shop turned colloqial bbq haven. Really good 'que, delicious onion rings. Line moves fast, tables open frequently, interesting mix of friendly and patient patrons.

Saw's sauce is one of my favorites and I was stoked to go after I heard about this place. Service was good and the BBQ was amazing, sadly the side items were unimpressive. In almost any other state I would have still given it at least 4 stars based on the pulled pork sandwich alone, but this is Alabama, and... More

The locxation near MT Brook is fairly large with na great chef, makes up... More

I had the grits, topped with greens, topped with pork, left the onion straws off because I am allergic to onion (that's the only reason), other than that I would have gotten it all the way. The seating is limited (very, very limited on the inside) and the outside seating isn't much more, but the food is delicious and worth... More

Arrived just after the lunch rush. Very good BBQ but the fried okra was really special. Cut in half longways and fried. Never seen it done that way but the results are great. Nice staff and smells like a real bbq & soul food place should.

Had the pulled pork over greens and cheese grits with onion strings on top for my first visit. Was excellent and only $10 (great with a sweet tea). Had the Shrimp and grits for my second visit. Cool old school neighborhood joint, good blues and soul soundtrack in the background. Would highly recommend a visit here. Please note the place... More
