Great food, every time.

Consistently good service and food. Very welcoming atmosphere. Nice variety of food served. Highly recommend Greek style tenderloin. For that matter any of the Greek style dishes are excellent. They haven't been around as long as they have for bad food! Oh, make sure you save room for one of their... read more

On Sunday, I went with my two sisters to Bright Star. They were both favorably impressed with the meal. Two of us had the Grouper Almondine which is always excellent. My other sister had the country fried steak which she also enjoyed. The portions are more than enough so we had to order coconut and Chocolate almond pie to go!... More

Have eaten at The Bright Star all my adult life. The food has been excellent most every time we go for our anniversary or just for a regular dinner. During the last year we has two poor meals of the KC extra cut with a lot of excess fat and gristle. Wondered if they had gone with another vendor. Veggies... More

First and foremost, we love the Bright Star. We had lunch there today, and the hospitality was wonderful and our server, Neda was delightful. We had the Greek salmon and Greek Tenderloin entrees, and both were delicious. The salmon was slightly dry today, yet still good. The Greek salad was good as well. The shrimp cocktail, however, was a huge... More

While shopping in Bessemer, stopped for lunch at the Bright Star. Greeted at the door with a Smile!! Quickly, escorted to our booth. Beautiful ,soft music echoing with such melody. Was served a Delicious chicken-n- Dumpling!!!! WoW!!! The dessert was very tasty!!! I really enjoyed the atmosphere.

I have been a patron of Bright Star my entire life. I have noticed a distinct change in the quality of the food within the last decade, yet I am unsure how much is due to staff turnover or supplier turnover. By and large, the items most promoted on the menu are the best (texas special, greek beef tenderloin, broiled/fried... More

Found this place almost by accident and what a sweet surprise it was. The food was great, the people were fantastic and the history of the restaurant was amazing. Have recommended multiple times since our trip. If you are anywhere near here, you have to go!

When in business for more than 100 years it would be easy to rest on your laurels. Mr. Jimmy and Mr. Nicky continue to grow the Bright Star by providing the very best quality (food, service, atmosphere) in the state. There are a lot of choices when it comes to dining well and the Bright Star outshines them all!

My partner and I had dinner at the Bright Star with a couple of friends this past Saturday, June 27th. We could bet you $100 to $1 that every time we step foot into the restaurant we are going to have some of the best food in the South! I had my favorite, stuffed shrimp with crabmeat, fried I might... This restaurant is a hometown favorite great food. Friendly service. Try the banana fosters. The fish and the shrimps are excellent. The steaks are mouth watering. This restaurant is worth a visit when coming to Bessemer.
