This is an old well established business. The owners know how to take care of customers. The food is excellent. They are famous for snapper and steak but they have other entrees as well. If I had one negative it would be the glasses are small so the waitress has to keep coming back. But then, that's why the glasses... More

We attended this event on 23 August '14. It was without doubt a full evening of fun, food, service and pleasure for me and my guest. Treat yourself if close to this wonderful and magnificent restaurant with friends and family.

Embarrassed to say that all these years I've lived in Bham had never been. Couldn't have picked a better time. Tory McPhail exec chef of Commanders Palace, was guest chef the night we went. Although this was an exceptional night, you could tell the atmosphere, service and quality of food were standard any time you'd go. Can't wait to go... More

We live in the Birmingham area, but are located more than 45 minutes from the Bright Star. Inspite of the drive, we make a point to dine there at least once or twice a month. Consistent great meals, fresh seafood, wonderful service, and employees that make you feel "right at home". I highly recommend Bright Star. " You've gotta eat... More

The best restaurant in bessemer. A lot of history within these walls. The place has been there for over 100 years and counting. Still owned by the same family I beleive. The food was great. Wether its their fresh seafood or the steaks. It was delicious. Ps. Try the lobster and crab caserole, amazing....the only trick is service is a... More

The BrightStar is a go to restaurant and favorite meeting spot for myself and my coworkers. If you are tired of the same steak and seafood chain restaurants and want a great meal with a down home feel then you should definitely try the BrightStar. The bread pudding with white whisky sauce is the best. My husband and I visited... More

A truly historic place! Our "go to" place for special occasions. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Food has never disappointed (unless they run out of something). Snapper almondine is a fav as well as the KC extra cut steak. And for a real treat (not on the menu) ask for a Country Greek salad instead of house salad. Tomotaes... More

The community has seen more prosperous times but the food here has never been better. The restaurant is, well old, and shows it. But the food will never get old. Go here for the Greek influenced fare as often as I can with family or friends. Love the Greek style steak, it's a must have. Servers are part of the... More
