The other day my girlfriend and I went to Pure Lotus for dinner. We ordered one dish of 'dried' tofu with vegetables, one dish of celery and cashew nuts and one dish of mapo tofu. Sat outside on their beautiful porch, we were thoroughly enjoying the food up until the point we realized that there was meat in the mapo... More

Good value, wholesome Chinese food. We all enjoyed eating here, and is worth seeking out whether you are meat-free or not.

To be honest, our dinner wasnt spectacular but it was a good portions and fairly tasty. We had a nice little alcove all to ourselves. Nice atmosphere.

Background: Yearning for some gastronomic variety, our tour group acted on the advice of our tour guide to try this most unique restaurant in Yangshuo. PROS: Location is one of its best assets. Situated in the town centre, just next to Magnolia Hotel at Die Cui Road, it is accessible. Stylishly fitted out with stunning antique Chinese furnishings, it makes... More

Nice to have time to look at a menu, which is not the norm in Yangshou! Food excellent, mixed grain and rice and spicey eggplant highly recommend Normally a meat lover, but this place was great

One of the few pure vegetarian restaurants that we came across on our 3 week Intrepid Travel tour of China. Food tasted fantastic and was well prepared. Decor in the restaurant was very nice with relaxing Classical Chinese music in the background. A real gem in the party town of Yangshuo.

I thought the food was bland and trying really hard to be exciting. I really didn't care for the whole experience at pure lotus. I've had much better vegetarian food in Beijing for much less money. This place was really expensive especially for how small the servings are. On the other hand the restaurant is really pretty inside and the... More

We came early and were one of only 3 parties in the restaurant at the time. After waiting 45 min. For some simple dishes, they finally arrived, but in portions much smaller than depicted on the menu. After waiting so long the first time, there was no time to order more, so we left hungry. :(

We had a guide who wanted to get us to go to another restaurant and had to be quite forceful to get here. As is common in China guides do not believe in maps even when they have no clue where they are and we had a struggle to locate this place. I wish i could remember all the dishes... More
