The fire burning at the center of the dining area adds a touch of light hearted camp like atmosphere during the dinner time. The live band and singers rendering local and other Spanish numbers to foot-tapping beat completes the visitors' senses of local tastes, sounds and smells...

Nice atmosphere with a fire (I sat outside at the back of the restaurant, which I'd recommend to head for). The food was great, I had the ubiquitous empanada to start followed by the bistec a lo pobre (poor man's steak)...I really didn't need the starter as the portions were very large. With a half bottle of wine it came... More

Stopped for a late lunch and were very pleased with our choice of restaurants. We ordered the Empanadas and the Parmesan Scallops. The Empanadas were larger than we had anticipated and one could have been split between us. The eight scallops were delicious. Overall, one of the best meals we had in San Pedro.

La Casona rocked-my-world! I spent 8 full-days in San Pedro, trying out the "best" restaurants, by ranking, on Trip Adviser, and the meals I had at this place were one of the highlights of my trip. Having been born in MEXICO, raised in the USA and now living in CHILE, I can safely say that I have tried quite a... More

Lovely ambience with roaring fire and great food! We had the set menu which is good value especially in an expensive place like San Pedro. We had the quinoa salad, salmon and Asada Leche, yum!

The food here was fine, as was the service. My wife and I visited for an early dinner - something that's hard to do in San Pedro de Atacama, and thankfully La Casona's kitchen was open. We found a few unique items on the menu but, after a couple of weeks of adventurous eating on our trip, we really just... More

This is a well-deserved lonely planet "top choice". Lovely setting with cosy open fire in the centre of the main indoor room, good, quick service, large portions and great meat cooked well. (Although remember to go one grade up from your preferred UK choice or you'll find it undercooked). We also enjoyed the recommend "aji verde" (green chilli) pisco. Good,... More

We had here the richest menu del dia in town for only 7,500 pesos (about 15usd). Ambience is charming, they have a fire place that warms the place without too much smell, service is ok. They only have one choice of wine - a mdidle range bottle that suited me just fine at a very reasonable price. Food was abundant... More

There was a nice buzz about this restaurant as in early evening it was almost full. Unfortunately this meant the service was a bit hit and miss. We had the 'parillada' which was a plentiful pile of different types of meats and cuts, but cooked rather poorly. We probably wouldn't bother again.
