I didn't eat here but I did spend time with a group of people who were eating and they mostly liked the food. The prices are very reasonable and the service was pretty good as well. As someone just having drinks and taking in the atmosphere, I can say that I had a good experience here.

I saw the recommendation in the lonely planet guide for the cooking courses and headed straight there upon my arrival in Battambang. I managed to book myself on the course for the following day and then decided that I might as well eat there. As it turns out the food was the worst by far that I have had since... More

We spent a morning with the chef of the restaurant doing cooking lesson. We went to the market with him first to buy what is needed for 3 typical khmer meals : Fish amok, Loc lac and rosted chicken in coconut juice. We ate what we cooked and that was the best fish amok I ate (and I cooked it... More

This was really fun. The trip to the market is not for the faint hearted as unlike in our western supermarkets, you actually see your food in its primary condition and see fish being killed and filleted. But this only made the ingredients more alive in the dishes, which were lok lak, amok fish curry and stir fried chicken with... More

We wanted to take a cooking class at some point along our travels, we saw this offer in the lonely planet guide. It cost $10 sounds a lot but it 9:30-12:30 and you get to cook 3 dishes of your choice (starter, side and mains). We were taken to the local market first to choose the ingredients and then we spend... We had a few great meals here - be brave and try the sour fish soup - it's quite possibly the most delicious soup I've had in the past 10 weeks of traveling. The cooking class was excellent as well - the owner is hilarious, no-nonsense and puts everyone at ease with the hands-on class. The trip to the market... More

Had an amok curry and the beef in a pot (which was more of a lemongrassy soup with beef). The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The service was quick and friendly.

Hey, I just got back from the Smokin Pot, my cooking class was also called off. When i showed up, there was a guy waiting for me with a handwritten note by the chef, saying that he got "sick" last night and the class could not be held. It seems to be his pattern to just call off classes like... More

I was supposed to attend this class with a friend but she wasn't feeling well, so I wound up going alone. Before I arrived, I was afraid it would be awkward but it turned out to be one of my favorite experiences to date! (And I've had quite a few spectacular ones lately.) First of all: Vannak speaks English well... More
