This is quite an upmarket place for such a simple village. The house it is located in is wonderful and the decoration simple but chic. It is a bit on the quiet side as not in the centre of town and the people there tend to be part of a tour or couples. The service was good and discreet and... More

The place is wonderful and the location ,too. We had christmas dinner there and really enjoyed it- looking for a place not too forgein and expensive but still a litlle up market- the green chilli fitted in just fine with these accomplishments. We had great Thai and Shan food and wonderful cocktails, the latter not so easy to find in... More

The food of the Shan people is a revelation and in the foreseeable future it will be all the rage amongst people who don't summarize the food in Myanmar as "Burmese Food". The Shan people grow vegetables and so it comes as no surprise that veggies play a significant role in their cooking traditions. But the Shan are not vegetarians.... More

We went there with a fairly large group. Service was excellent and the food delicious. It is very clean. I think there are times in Myanmar when you have had enough of street food and want somewhere a little more 'up market'. This was great.

We ate here twice, and both times had delicious food for good prices. The restaurant is a beautiful old house with a verandah for eating outside, and the staff and service were excellent. Highly recommended.

We wanted a change from the normal standard of restaurants in Nyaungshwe so we went to Green Chilli. We had a great time here, very romantic and relaxing. While it is more upmarket the prices are reasonable although you will pay more here than normal. The food was good and the staff were very attentive. The only thing I would... More

After a few too many days of street food and restaurants lacking in ambiance it was a treat to have a delicious meal in a quiet and relaxing setting. We ate at the location in town (Nyaungshwe) rather than on the lake and it was great. The restaurant is off the main track and has a nice little garden around... More

The place is beautiful, the service good...but we didn't like the food . We felt it lacked the local flavour. Maybe good for expats but we didn't like our experience. Service and the setting was great though.
