Excellent ambiance. Top class service. The Pisco Sour was great. This was my first experience of Peruvian food and must say La Mar was tops. Must say that I didnt get to pay the bill and thus cant comment whether it was pricey, but certainly worth it if it was.

This was the 2nd time I've had a meal in this restaurant. First was with a group of work colleagues, in a celebration day and we've tried/shared many plates. I think I've tried almost all the dishes available in the menu lol! Second time was during lunch time w/ a friend, we've had the lunch menu, which costs around R$40... More

My girlfriend and I went to have Cebiches at this place with the expectation that it would be as good as advertised. We were disappointed. We had the expectation that the cebiches would be as great as those we experienced in Lima Peru, Quito Ecuador or even at Peruvian restaurants in Miami. The taste and flavor is not that great,... I and my wife went out to dinner in La Mar Cebicheria and we had a pleasant experience. Service is good and the ambiance is cozy and friendly enough. Having said that, we were a bit disappointed with the food. Regaring the couvert, some of the fried potatos were not crisp and probably leftovers from another meal. The sauces, on... More

This Peruvian seafood restaurant is an excellent introduction to the pride of Peruvian cuisine, cebiche. White fish and sea food are marinated in citrus juice and mild-to-hot pepper, tenderising them to an almost-cooked state. Served with salad, fresh citrus and many other possible accompaniments, cebiche has become a staple of international fusion cuisine, more so than the Japanese sushi and... More

Although I like the one in Lima, Peru, better, this was also a great experience, and one I always go back for when I'm in Sao Paulo. Not much to say other than great service and a few recommendations of plates to try: tiraditos, causas, octopus, anticuchos (only if they have heart anticuchos), tacu tacu and lomo salteado. Desserts are... More

Nice place, very good food and very well served. We had a sampler of four types of ceviches, a plancha marinera and a rice with shrimps. All nicely served and tasty. Good place to go with family, friends and colleagues.

Expensive as São Paulo is, 49 reales (close to 20 u$) is consider a good value. La Mar is a great Peruvian restaurant, owned by Gaston Acurio, one of the most important ambassador of peruvian cuisine all over the world. The executive menu is very good, offering a starter (try the ceviche), a main (I order the rice with seafood)... More
