Business lunch for three. The ambience of this place has clearly character with its all-walls window leaning on a charming japanese garden. We got a table by the window and this was already half of the pleasure. We ordered the business lunch with sashimi and miso soup and a nice small salad as starter. The fish was very good with... This restaurant synthesizes the Japanese cuisine. It is very traditional in São paulo, but it is still an excellent choice for Japanese dinning. Besides the private dinning rooms for more private gatherings, Shintori has a bar, a sushi bar and a grill - the three facing a nice gardened Japanese garden in the restaurant's backyard. The sushi is great, but... More

While wandering around the Pullman hotel looking for a traditional place to eat, I took a chance on Shintori, a local Japanese Food restaurant. Quite under-stated from the outside, but inviting on the inside. All expectations of this California boy were surpassed, as I was treated to some of the best sushi I have ever had, but even more impressive... More

I was not impressed by the quality of the food. They were out of a few key ingredients part of every staple Japanese cuisine and the Atmosphere was very stale. It's overrated and I have had much better Japanese cuisine in Sao Paolo.

This past Saturday, my girlfriend and I went to have dinner at Shintori in Jardins. The pretense for going here was that it was Restaurant Week in São Paulo so the 3 course dinner would be R$ 48. I was excited about the meal because Shintori is rated the 43rd best restaurant in São Paulo by TripAdvisor. But in the... More

Really not sure why this is an good option. I've tried the Restaurant week for 47.5 BRL per person and it was disappointing with the food that came. Small portions with very low quality compared to Jun Sakamoto. Even if I went with the menu costing around 120BRL per person, I'm not sure if it would surprise me. Maybe O... More

First decent sushi in Sao Paulo (last decent one was back in Nagoya more than 3 years ago). Prices are on a high side, but taste is absolutely amazing and totally worth it - fresh fish, well cooked japanese rice and impeccable service.

First time I have bothered to review on TripAdvisor. I went in expecting mediocre sushi, and ordered a chef's sampler in the bar area. Ambience was a little odd, but the guitarist was pleasant, so I didn't mind. The sashimi and nigiri (Ahi, salmon, snapper) were top notch! The maki were just average. I ordered the maguro nigiri and was... More

I took my wife to shintori after reading a lot of good reviews and recommendations from friends. We love japanese food so the expectations where high. The house is quite nice but a bit aged ( they have tried to put a modern touch with some nice colourful paintings , but it seemed a like a patch without sense to... More

The ambiance is fantastic with a magnificent japanese garden, very serene. There are several rooms and a lovely bar, but my favorite is the teppan room where a chef cooks individually for a table of 6 people. He is at the same time a private cooker but and a private show, mastering his stove. The ingredients are superb and of... More
